    Springfield 7prc accuracy issue.

Sure, but explain the shoots great then goes to shit. Seems like the more likely culprit is something is loose, severely fouled, bad scope, or bad ammo. To the OP, keep this thread updated as you figure it out. Out of respect, the manufacturers not at fault in this should be recognized...

    Springfield 7prc accuracy issue.

It will be interesting to see what the root cause is. I went back and looked at the pics.....there are a couple bughole groups in there. Without knowing more specifics it can be anything......including shooter.....haha. I have seen groups like that from ammo though. Had a 7prc that shot that...

    Springfield 7prc accuracy issue.

Ditto to Terry..... Also, check the lot numbers on the ammo. I have absolutely given up on Hornady "Match" ammo.......especially 7prc. I've seen multiple instances of Hornady Match 7prc go ES of 120fps for 20rnds and visually off COAL. If you can, grab a box of federal terminal ascent hunting...

Newbie Asks: Why do you say the Production (Rifle) Division is a Joke?

That's why it is the GAy division.........haha

Newbie Asks: Why do you say the Production (Rifle) Division is a Joke?

I have not read the complete thread...... Having said that.....there is no reason the budget cap shouldn't be $1500 rifle and $1000k scope. There are plenty of great options within these budgets and it is low enough to keep the purpose built low cost items out of the class. Hell you might even...

    M40A3/A5 Owners - Build Questions

Frank, The family and I have been doing well here in FL. Between the new (to me) house, honey-do list from the wife, and Altus keeping me loaded with work. I stay plenty busy. I need to get up and see all the Bartlein crew again. I bet a lot has changed since the 10yr celebration. The car...

    First rifle, MRAD or custom?

Based on your 1,2,3 goals from your first post. If you want great resale value and a safe queen......get a "milspec" package setup. You will always find someone to pay top dollar if you keep it unmodified and in good shape. If you want to seriously increase skillset.....take a precision rifle...

Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

So much comes into play with "barrel life".......from differing opinion of "shot out" to maintenance procedures through the life of the barrel. Proof makes a decent barrel. In my experience their bores sizes and straightness typically have more variability than others, so they are not my go to...

    Wet Tumbling / SS Pins

I wet tumble with pins, then use a powder graphite type neck lube before bullet seating......no problem with SDs or accuracy. I've never seen "peening" issues, but it can be my process steps......step 1 decap....step 2 wet tumble.....step 3 anneal.....then usual reloading steps. Problems may...

Barrel out of spec? Origin shouldered to savage style.

That barrel looks nitrided.....might be a chore to fix. If you can't easily get it to work, contact the manufacturer.

Barrel out of spec? Origin shouldered to savage style.

If you have a set of calipers......even cheapie ones......you can get basic measurements (major thread diameter and even an imaginary datum in the thread "V" that is just a comparable measurement to the other barrel's threads in the same place......so long as the caliper jaws have enough edge...

    Firearms FN SPR A2 300WSM

Yeah FN kinda missed the boat when they released the SPR series. If only they made the same rifles in different calibers and AICS compatible. Imagine a chrome-lined 6.5 (or 6) creedmoor, 1/2moa (or better) accuracy, in a premium stock, for less than $2500......deal of the century right there...

    Firearms FN SPR A2 300WSM

That's a great rifle. Mine really loves 155amax at blazing speeds....... absolutely wicked on anything with a heartbeat. Not to mention the chrome-lined barrel, who knows how long these 300wsm last.......mine is still going strong and I stopped keeping track a long time ago. Ern

Talk to me about this possible build… can I do it myself and will it shoot worth a shit?

If you do good work, your leadtimes will be up there.......regardless of your output. I am battling that now. Seems like the more I increase capability......the ratio of "waiting" stays the same......haha. Lots of great builders out there, pick one with a good rep, good price, and good...

    Scope paralysis

Sure....but "walking it in" relies on consistency and repeatability. I am talking about random dispersion. A 3moa rifle/ammo combo will center punch a 1/4moa bullseye at some point if you fling enough rounds at it. Ern

    Scope paralysis

Just goes to show you......if you have enough time and ammo......almost any long range shot is possible. Don't get me wrong......they improved their chances as much as possible with the right gear and the right knowledge.......but to me this is equivalent to buying a pallet of 22lr and going to...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I pick them up......depending on model between $900-$1200. I prefer no modifications........no muzzle threads.....no aftermarket trigger. Ern

    Barrel Profile: Heavy for Hunters

#4 bull sporter, works great with mag cartridges while still fitting in a traditional style stock......like a mcm htg....or manners T. Give me a #4 over a carbon wrapped any day......you are getting a much better barrel with all steel.
