MK 12 Picture & Discussion Thread

So nice to see these rifles not only live on, but get shot. I’m bringing both my RECCE and my Mod 0 to the next multi gun match. It’s time to shake them out. If I could find an old Badger ring cap that will support a modern red dot ,I’d compete with the mod0 more often. I really wish PMM...

Is it worth reloading precision ammo on a single stage versus progressive press?

I loaded every single round of rifle for 22 years on a Rock Chucker. Recently I bought a used 500 for 5.56 as I a shooting a lot more 2 gun and 500 rounds of 5.56 on a Rock Chucker is a 5+ hour endeavor . I love it, and I think it could absolutely load match ammo IF the case prep was done...

Is it worth reloading precision ammo on a single stage versus progressive press?

Are you dropping into a pan and using a funnel die or have you found a way to drop directly into the die/case?

2025 Tenet Midnight Madness Run and Gun March22

It really is a nice place. They have a lot of steel and one of the longest rifle ranges in this area at 1550 yards. Staff is a good bunch of guys as is the owner, Pat. (He also ran the event again this year).

2025 Tenet Midnight Madness Run and Gun March22

Was another great match. This one was a bit more challenging for me, as they reduce points (added time) for C zone by 1.5 seconds and 3 points for D zone. 10 seconds for a failure to engage. I’m not used to this and it caused me to think about height over bore more but ultimately I still...

    Struggling with 5.56

Varget, N140,RL15 are all going to be about the same. They will be compressed with a 77 or 69 SMK. You could roll or taper crimp. Not sure what size target you’re shooting but I’m taking my 14.5s to 500+ routinely on full sized IPSC steel. They hold good elevation, wind can be challenging if...

    Secret Service “JAR” rifle

I hear you, but Carl, Norm, Ken and the guys from up there that aren’t “famous” are shooters. I bet they’d want to see them shot, but get it and ultimately it’s your gear. Shot with one of them at Perry in 2004.(last name started with E) Half his primers were duds. He had to take the cheek...

    Secret Service “JAR” rifle

Well, you narrowed that down to one guy who would certainly know. :) Those who know, know. Been probably 15 years since I shot with Carl and crew at ORSA but I’ve never heard the guy you’re talking about called the great.

Rifle Scopes Found deal on Night Force ATACR, have questions

Not sure what you mean. I’ve had several fixed over the years. They put exactly what they did in the return receipt when they replace parts. I have had a couple come back NTF, but they worked upon return so who knows. Was it a broken scope or was it a shift in a set of rings over the years...

Pam Bondi Just Surfaced this Morning

I’ll believe it when I see people actually fired and brought up on charges. For now, this is just tough talk. Fingers crossed, but I have had the football pulled out far too many times to trust Lucy anymore.

    6.5x47L vs 6.5 CM in ar-10

For me, it would be cost (brass can be cheaper) and feeding reliability.

    6.5x47L vs 6.5 CM in ar-10

I have 2 bolt action 6.5x47s and if I was going gasser I’d bite the bullet and tool up for the creed. Cheaper brass I don’t mind losing or destroying. I also would feel more confident in the creed feeding. The 47 is a bit fat with little body taper and a very steep shoulder. The Creed seems to...

FFP LPVO with most holdover points. MOA or Mil.

I’m not sure any of the LPVOs do this. The illumination is basically to mimic a red dot at 1x. G3 is nice but not $2800 nice. Was under $1800 when I bought mine.

FFP LPVO with most holdover points. MOA or Mil.

I have the FC-DMx. For me, it’s usable at 6-8x. I might be able to use it at 4-5x but it would take some time and lighting would have to be right. I haven’t shot the FC-MOA yet but I am a MOA shooter (current MIL scopes is just to cross train) and it reminds me a lot of the NPR-1, which is...

FFP LPVO with most holdover points. MOA or Mil.

Nightforce FC-DMx, has 10 MILs, FC-MOA has 30 MOA. Neither will get a 5.56 to 1k, but they’ll get to 750 easy. Either of these will take my 6.5x47s, Dashers or 300WMs to 1k with a simple holdover.
