    Meopta 30 X 60 WA or 20 X 70 Eyepiece

I have the 30x60 wa and love it. Seriously doubt you'd need the 20x70. Skip

    Range finders

I labored over the Leica vs Terrapin for a long time. It came down to whether the $1200 difference was for something I really needed...it wasn't, since I'm not going to be shooting anything past 800 yards. Also on the plus side, the Leica 1600b is a lot more compact and provides...

New Atlas Bipod on the Way, the Updated PSR Model

Wow! Been gone for a few days and almost missed this. Thanks Kasey. I'll send an e-mail for my second Atlas in the morning. Skip

Longest gun case:Pelican 1770-true? other options?

Take a look at the Boyt hard case. The shell is every bit as good as the pelican and latches are superior, IMO. They are double rifle cases and come in 40, 48 and 52" I believe. I've air cargoed a few longer guns from Calif. To Texas with nary an issue, other than the loaded weight being over...

    Help With a Spotter Purchase

I thought I had done my research well and had settled upon the Zen Ray, even ordered one, until I saw reviews on the Meopta Meostar, so I changed my order. For the price, I believe that it's the best on the market. That said, at your price point, I think that the Zen Ray is a superb choice. Skip

Rifle Scopes March 3-24x42 Owners - Long-Term Reports?

I've only had my March 3-24x42 for about 6 months, but it's about a year old as I bought from a guy who wanted a more combat style scope. I have mine on a Bobro mount on top of a SCARs .308 for ranch range play and plan on also using it on a Rem 700 .264 WinMag for LR hunting. I doubt that one...

Rifle Scopes QD scope mounts: why?

    Rifle Scopes quality scope questions

Ditto. I understand the need to economize; however, by mounting a $300 optic on a $1000+ rifle you have compromised your weapon's capability and likely your own. Most rifles will get you to 1.5 MOA if not a lot better than that, just with iron sights. Buy an optic with mediocre glass, that...

Bushnell Elite 1600 vs Leica 1600

It should. The Leica's beam divergence is only bettered by the Terrapin. Skip

Rifle Scopes New March 1x-8x24mm FFP Scope

Thanks for the clarification. I thought I must have been missing out on what otherwise may have been a super range finder, if made by Deon. You'll find a great review thread of the G7 Br2 on Long Range Hunting Online Magazine. My primary issues with the Br2 have been its MOA only offering and...

Rifle Scopes New March 1x-8x24mm FFP Scope

Thanks Jim. I thought all of the March tactical scopes were offered in MRad reticle versions to match their Mil turrets. That's what my F 3-24x42 (FML) does, which is my favorite scope by far. So glad to see that you will be carrying March flip-up covers at the first of the year. Skip

Rifle Scopes New March 1x-8x24mm FFP Scope

I have searched in vain for any reference to a March rangefinder on the net. Certainly there's nothing about it on the Kelbly's site. So what March rangefinder are you referring to? Any link would be welcome. Skip

    Rifle Scopes Meopta scopes ???

Don't have a Meopta rifle scope but do have their Meostar spotting scope and it's top notch and top rated. I don't think you could go wrong with that option. If you can get the reticle you want, you'll save some big bucks to spend on something else you want/need. Skip

Rifle Scopes SCOPE MANUFACTURER QUALITY RATINGS ( high end scopes only)

You seriously need to add March to your list, since you already have included much inferior scopes in your "high end" grouping. You should also look at Ilya's reviews. They would answer all of your questions.

    Max magnification for a spotter?

Thanks for the Petersen link. I have the Meopta Meostar and couldn't be happier, it being half the price of next highest rating for the Swovarski. I have absolutely no issues with this scope. As far as toting the scope around on a mountain hunt, that's what horses, mules, atvs and utvs are for...

Rifle Scopes Scope for SCAR 17S
