hey primus what part did i say was trimmed???? didnt say anything about the bolt head which is what holds all the pressure back. if you get one of the savage easy lift kits that are sold what im telling all the savage owners to do is what they have you do first, and they are top gunsmiths...- sav338lapua

ok just about heard enough about the bolt lift is heavy. all you need to do is take the bolt apart and where the cocking pin rides on the bolt body camming surface you'll notice there's a slight rise towards the end. take your dremel and level it off. your bolt will lift like its got power...- sav338lapua

PTR 91 opinions...
beenjammin, your right it will dent it if you dont have the brass deflecter on the ejection port but thats an easy fix, bben reloading flute marked 308 brass since 1984 and it works fine. been shooting and cleaning these things for a long time, still qu9cker and easier to clean than an AR type.- sav338lapua

bravosector1 everyone has there likes and dislikes, i guess carrying one for 3 years and having it save my bacon a few times causes my allegiance to the G3/HK91. if i was told i could have only one rifle PERIOD!!! i would probably pick my HK91-- great cartridge, good accuracy, easy to maintain...- sav338lapua

The 1920 is a short action because it was only made to take the 250 and 300 savage, '06 won't fit. I don't think they were thinking long or short action just made it to fit those cartridges. Action savage 10 stagger feed, barrel is a E.R. Shaw 1:10 twist. It shoots 100gr MK's into 1/2" all day long Oh that load is 36.5grs of varget and it avg's 3050 FPS!!!!! This is my 3rd barrel from them and all have been damn accurate.- sav338lapua
