    Gunsmithing expedient 1911 frontstrap

Re: expedient 1911 frontstrap I probably checker 150-200 frontstraps a month with no aching muscles or blisters. Just a little help from my Haas VF2. However even with access to any frontstap treatment available I have a Colt Gov. model in 9mm with skateboard tape on the frontstrap.

    Suppressors .300 Whisper AR

Re: .300 Whisper AR Thanks for the info guys. I'll have plenty of time to read up and get the gear I need to run sub-sonic. I haven't even handled the gun myself. I had a friend pick it up for me and he said it ran fine with his .300 Whisper ammo that is loaded super sonic but didn't try any...

    Suppressors .300 Whisper AR

I just picked up a Sabre Defense AR with a .300 Whisper upper. It seems to run fine as is but when I scratch up enough money I plan on getting a can for it. What kind of problems can I expect getting it to run suppressed?

    Suppressors Aluminum framed 1911

Re: Aluminum framed 1911 The biggest problem I've seen with the aluminum frame 1911's has been wear in the feed ramp from shooting defensive ammo. I had a friend with a Kimber that would take a pencil with sandpaper around it and sand out the dings in his feed ramp after every range session...

My ten year old shooting run-n-gun.

Re: My ten year old shooting run-n-gun. Thanks for the kind comments guys. The pistol he was shooting is a Colt gov. model in 9mm. It shoots about 5" high and I talked him through holding low but when he started shooting he forgot about the low hold. I could see most of his misses going high...

The long targets on the hill where from about 175 yards to 275 yards. The rifle targets you can't see are about 50 to 75 yards 4" steel swingers. The first...

Gunsmithing First Cerakote job...COMPLETED!!! (very pic heavy)

Re: First Cerakote job...COMPLETED!!! (very pic heavy) Great looking job! If I can suggest, you may want to try and rig your rack in the oven to set near the top and try hanging your parts below it with heavy gauge wire. On your small parts take wire with gator clips on it to clamp the screws...
