    Rifle Scopes Sunshade vs. ARD

I seriously think Ranger822's response was humor. Missing maybe a smiley or two to emphasize that it was not serious or criticism.

Suppressors SWR Specwar 762 for first can?

Yeah, that looks badass. My coworker is considering one, and I almost want one in addition to the AAC one I have. The mount looks solid, the baffles from some kind of unobtainium (er, "Proprietary PolyMimetic high temperature alloy") that they advertise is better than Inconel for heat. Get...

Suppressors Looking for a 308 suppressor

I'll double what some people are saying here. I shoot on my property and neighbors are 200-300 yards away (it is legal, I do have a berm). I shoot my 308 bolt and 223 AR and people think it is a 22. In fact, they cannot hear it if they are inside their homes, just outside. And people shoot...

Rifle Scopes Vortex PST 2-10x44 worth it?

I have not compared the two directly, but with the x32 FFP the FFP function is only useful from 5x to 10x due to the small demarcations. The glass quality is excellent, better than my 1-4 and 6-24 PSTs. I am happy with it, and prefer it to the x44 for compactness alone with hunting; however...

    Suppressors .22 can worth it?

You know where/when I last shot my 22 rifle? Out the back of the garage at 1 am. Couldn't sleep, decided to put a few yards down my backyard range. Absolutely no one heard, no neighbors, no wife, no kids. Couldn't say that without the suppressor. Just some Wolf MT, standard velocity, Savage...

    Suppressors Newbie question - 762 SDN-6

That and maybe this: Do It Yourself Gas Busting Charging Handle [2009-09-29] - 03DESIGNGROUP Adjustable gas block will help, but I said f it personally. I don't shoot thousands of rounds, though.

Rifle Scopes Anyone else anxiously awaiting a new Vortex?

I'm really disappointed I got the 2.5-10x32 FFP. Because now I look through the 6-24x50 I have from Vortex and it doesn't look as good as it used to. :( The 2.5-10x32 is a lot clearer. What, do I have to buy a 5-25 S&B or something to be happy with a long range optic now?

Rifle Scopes How do YOU level your optic?

^There will be a little windage adjustment needed for that technique to zero at different distances. It may be minor. I use a level on the rail, lock the bipod, then level the scope using an open elevation turret. I then pull back behind the rifle and verify the vertical crosshair is...

    Most useful accessories on atlas

Almost never use my extensions. Of course I'm in Kansas, terrain is different everywhere.

Paintballs, that's a good inexpensive idea, thanks for that. Sounds fun.

Rifle Scopes What's a good scope cant indicator to get?

I need a cant indicator that tells me when I can't make a shot.

Rifle Scopes What's a good scope cant indicator to get?

After you have mounted the level, triple check that your elevation adjustments track that vertical line. You can do this without shooting using a plumb line in your backyard. Use a long string with a heavy weight hanging from a tree limb. Level the rifle per the cant indicator and ensure the...

Rifle Scopes Viper PST Running Out of Elevation

Just send it in. They can verify if it's on spec or not. We get stuff back in at our company and send it back NFF (no failure found) all the time. Then diagnose the installation issue. Eliminate the variables one at a time, and it sounds like you eliminated the most obvious base reversal, so...

    Muzzle Jump?

I added an Atlas bipod and cleat feet for a bench. Triad Tactical, Inc.*::*Bipods etc.*::*Accu-Shot Atlas Cleat Feet The cleats grip, the Atlas bipod has more loading capability than a Harris. Before than though, with my 300 win mag, I had hops to the left and horizontal stringing to show...

    Rifle Scopes Vortex 2.5-10x32

In all honesty, though I'm in love this scope now for my application smallbore silhouette and hunting application, a 3-15 would be more appropriate if you hunt, shoot unsupported too. I use my 6-24 at 24x for prone target shooting. Can't get too much unless mirage. As others would say, it...

Rifle Scopes How do you use the reticle subtensions in a SPF variable scope for hunting ?

I disagree SFP is better for hunting purely because I like to use lower magnification than the max. The Vortex PST series does show the reticle magnification effect at different zoom settings with detents in the zoom set. As long as you keep that in mind, it works. But I actually like FFP...

    Suppressors Subsonic Suppressed Hunting Rifle

^Okay, those rounds mentioned are pretty large and out of my original scope, like 300 BLK...brings up 458 SOCOM to my mind, though. 600 grain, 1300 ft-lbs of pure subsonic joy. :D Now that would be something. I also don't dismiss the idea of 300 BLK subs killing deer, it can do it well no...

Rifle Scopes Savage 338 Lapua and Viper PST 6-24

Just a thought, if you run out of elevation, you can use the mil ticks at 0.5 mil increments (or MOA or whatever) on the reticle as holdovers, subtrace the appropriate 0.5 mil step from the firing solution. This will give additional range.
