Hi Waswrunandgun, As mentioned earlier this week on that other forum, I am so sorry about the issues with your most recent order. While we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, we missed the mark when it came to this particular transaction, and for that I sincerely apologize. If there is...

    Semi-scientific High End Spotter Test

Great, Keith E., hope you got something out of it. As a hunter mostly, the size and ruggedness of the Leupold might be my choice, but I liked the Nightforce a lot, also!

    Semi-scientific High End Spotter Test

This test came together because we were loaned a Nikon EDG VR and The new Nightforce TS-82. We had a total of 7 great quality spotters available to compare at once. Hope you enjoy. High End Semi-Scientific Spotting Scope Test and the Battlescooter! on RiflescopeBlog.com

Rifle Scopes Ideal mag for shooting 500 thru 1000yds

This^. I like having a scope that can adjust up to at least 20-25x for 1k shots, but I don't always have it dialed there. As Ty said, its nice having that wider FOV so you can see where your shots go if you're throwing them. Can't always see that with the higher magnifications. Starting at...

Rifle Scopes I'm pissed about the parallax on my new LRHS!

This might be a non factor, but are you shooting Spring piston or pneumatic? When I saw those scopes initially I asked if they were 'airgun' rated and was told they weren't rated for or at least 'tested on' spring pistons. If shooting pneumatic, no worries. Just wanted to throw that out...

Cake and eat it too??? Hunting and Tactical rifle all in one, sorta!

Nice looking setup. MK 6 is the way I'm going to save weight/space as well. Trevor B.

Rifle Scopes Need help picking a scope for my shorty .308

I used a 4-16x44 HS-T on a 300 WM last year for a hunt. Took a beating, shot straight, bagged a nice Mulie. Has a place on a SPR build right now as the 300 was sent to Krieger and will be wearing a MK6. Big fan of HS-T, great optic for the price. Trevor B.

Rifle Scopes Need help picking a scope for my shorty .308

Bushnell's 3.5-21x is a nice scope. Only down side to it for a hunting rifle is the weight. 35oz. is a heavy piece of glass top take on a deer hunt. I try to keep hunting scopes at or under 25oz. My $.02. Trevor B.

Rifle Scopes Need help picking a scope for my shorty .308

They do offer some models in the CDS dial which is finger adjustable. Its a pretty nice concept. The elevation dial is custom made for your load and has graduations engraved on it. My boss used the CDS dial on a 4.5-14 on an antelope at 400 yards 2 years ago. just dialed it to 4 (400 yards)...

    Rifle Scopes 50mm or 56mm ?

Only need/want it for extreme low light hunting, dawn and dusk. If not the case, save the cheek weld and rings and stick with the 50mm. Trevor B.

Rifle Scopes Need help picking a scope for my shorty .308

For just a hunting stick, give a look to the Leupold VX6 line. They have the 2-12x42 which is a pretty nice piece of glass for hunting and also a 3-18x if you want more magnifcation. Both are around the $1000-$1100 price point. If you're already looking into NF you might not want to come down...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide between Nightforce ATACR or Vortex Razor 4.5 X 27 X 56 Gen 2

Thats good advice. Personally, for a bench rifle, mychoice would be the vortex, has all the features you would need or would want. Now, if you said a LR hunting stick, the 10 less oz. on the ATACR would make my decision. Trevor B.

Talk me into your favorite R700 Chassis

When I carried the rifle on my hunt it was a stock 700 action and 26'' barrel with a vortex 4-16x44, weight came to 10.9#s. I'm doing the #14 heavy Palma in a 22'' 300WM setup, fluted. Total weight should be right at 10#s. Which I dont mind for its versatility to work in both fields...

Talk me into your favorite R700 Chassis

Plus one. I used the XLR Carbon on a hunt last year in Nebraska. Went with it because of the weight reduction and the folding capabilities. can't say how nice it was having a more compact package riding around in the truck. Easy to just hop out and pop the stock into place, and extremely...

Rifle Scopes Scopes don't always have to be as low as possible

It really has to do with folks obsessing over thousandths of an inch for no real benefit whatsoever. A difference in a few eighths of an inch really doesn't mean anything in the real world. Cheek weld is crucial, but a fraction higher is just fine. A bit higher will let you load your top feeder...

Rifle Scopes How much abuse has your Vortex (or really any favourite scope) taken and survived?

I have the HS-T 4-16 and took it on a hunt in NE last year. Was getting my pack on after hoping out of the truck, handed my rifle off to our video guy and it slipped out of the hands and landed right on the scope. Scope has some nice looking character, but when I squeezed one off at just over...
