    Accuracy of a SCAR 16?

This is a battle rifle. You are trying to make it do what it was not built for.

    JP or Larue in 556

Thanks all. Apparently these two systems are so close for my intended use I am going for the intangibles. JP was so helpful and accommodating over the phone you felt like you just wanted to business with them. Their salesmen, Ben was his name just wanted to make me happy. Larue was not...

    JP or Larue in 556

I want a 20" JP or Larue in 556. The weapon will be used for punching paper and steel at 300 to 600 yds. No tactical stuff so weight is not an issue. All shooting will be prone or from bench. I have spoken to both companies; JP very accommodating in how you want your build. Larue not so much. JP...

F T/R Competition Follow through on one shot disciplines

I agree with you. In shotgun sports like trap doubles or bunker trap a fast lock time and staying in the gun is what you have to do. I just thought it was sort of silly to worry about check weld etc. after a bullet was on the paper or steel.

F T/R Competition Follow through on one shot disciplines

Everyone talks about how important "follow though" or staying in the gun is. Please enlighten me? The round has already hit the target while one is practicing "follow through" thus making it unnecessary as it pertains to that specific shot. In MHO the only reason for staying in the gun...

Les baer .308 vs Gap 10

"The rifle will shoot sub .5MOA with 175 gr FGMM all day long if I do my part. The barrel, upper and lower and all major components except the trigger are made in house. Frankly it's a beautiful piece of work." ARE YOU CERTAIN THAT LES BAER MAKES HIS OWN BARRELS? THAT WOULD BE A VERY...

    LRP-07 inconsistent accuracy

Back to some original comments on reasons why this shooter is having trouble with his JP. Can anyone tell me why follow through (staying in the gun) is so important after the round has exited the barrel? I have seen really good shooters exaggerate this after the round has hit the target...

And I need a Larue why??

Yeah, after I posted I thought someone would call out the AMU. I was referring to the OP who said that he could consistently score 190-195 at 1000. Who knows, maybe he can......but I doubt it.

And I need a Larue why??

I am assuming you are using MOA NRA targets. That being the case, you would be one of the best 1000 yd AR shooters ever. The kind of scores you said that you consistently shoot are what the best bolt guns can do. No AR can consistently compete with a bolt gun at 1000 yds with an expert shooting...

    AGING EYES and Kowa 883

Can you see 308 holes at 600 (F Class Targets) with the Kowa 883? On a good day I can see holes in Shoot N See 6" targets at 600 with a less expensive Kowa. Never can see holes in a paper F Class target at 600. I've been told there is no commercially available SS that consistently will do the...

    F T/R Competition 175 to 155

Correct. Plus I never got into reloading. Been using FGMM 175 for years. My dedicated FTR rifle will shoot 1/2 minute using these.
