New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

Reloader 25 also looked good when I ran it through QL, but as it's a double base powder I ruled it out, which is a shame because I have plenty of it. Are Ramshot powders double base?

Care And Feeding Of A GAP 6.5 SAUM.....

I have just tried a un-fired Norma 6.5 Saum case in a Wilson new WSM case holder and it's a perfect fit.

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

This is copied from a email sent from Josh We step 300 to 7mm then step down with a .300 bushing then a .293 bushing, we then expand the brass to a .263 internal diameter to ensure perfect fit on our neck turning machine. then we turn the neck to a perfect .015" neck wall thickness. Neck...

Hunting & Fishing Dogs CAN Climb Trees...or at least 35' tall telephone poles!

I suspect getting up there was the easy part, getting back down might prove to be a problem, of course gravity will help! He went up head first, and I'm pretty sure he will come down head first. Well done for not shooting him.

    6mm Crusader

I use mine for F class and pulled the first barrel at 1000 rounds, but I would have quite happily shot game with it beyond 1000 rounds, so 2000 plus would be quite likely if it was just a hunting rifle. I used N560 and RL25, N560 is known to be hard on barrels, H1000 lacked velocity and accuracy.

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

Component list is now complete and all with the rifle builder, hopefully everything will be ready very early in the new year. The last time I followed one of George's calibers it was the 6mm Crusader, hopefully the 6.5 Saum will be every bit as good, if it works I will be having another barrel...

Care And Feeding Of A GAP 6.5 SAUM.....

Thinking about it logically, you would have to turn the whole of the neck otherwise you would be creating a false shoulder and it wouldn't chamber.

Care And Feeding Of A GAP 6.5 SAUM.....

What was your complete process? And we still haven't had a definitive answer about neck turning the last bit of the neck that the bushing die doesn't size, I think an email to Copper Creek is in order.

    6mm Crusader

The 6mm Crusader certainly has a huge grin effect sending 115 gr Dtacs at 3300 fps, 6.5 Saum is on its way :)

7wsm With 69gr of H1000 Under a 180 Berger Anyone Running This Load

You will be fine, that's a pretty standard load although on the higher end. I know some who run 71 grains! case life isn't long.

New GAP Extreme Hunter in 6.5 SAUM

I see it has a 081 freebore, which bullet was this throated for? presumably the 130 or 140 Grain Berger? How much of the bearing surface if any is below the neck shoulder junction?

    Maggie’s Motivational Pic Thread v2.0 - - New Rules - See Post #1

Some people said romance was dead, well not quite, but it is nursing a headache. What a bitch! although he did need to seriously man up.

Funny, but I must correct you on a few points. Firstly our police force can't afford bikes, secondly we're not allowed near knives and thirdly blowing up balloons is for specialists, it's a health and safety issue.

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

I would go for a .284,it has a relatively good barrel life, pretty easy to get to shoot and it will hold the V bull at 600 yards, which is all you need, and although the 6BR will hold inside that, the BR will struggle on windy days. On calm days (not that we have many) the .284 will run...

Good read on why we should "jam" VLD type bullets

The link wouldn't work for me either, but all you have to do is copy and paste this The Well Guided Bullet - Introduction into your browser and then click on interior ballistics.

    F T/R Competition Long Range F-Class

The GB F class league also has a long range day held at Bisley. Like you it's shot over 1000, 1100 and 1200 yards.

    6mm choice

6mm Crusader for me. 3300 fps with 115 Dtacs is possible, what's not to like.
