Leofoto, new Official Rifle Ball Head of PRS

@Cascade Hemi we have been the official tripod of the PRS for the past 4-5 years or so. When I started the SOAR Division in 2015 I was giving away $60k + in prizes a year up until COVID. So yes.

    Loose under recoil, tripod

@gearguywb If your gear is moving under recoil you can do a few things. In order of least to most cost to you: 1. All of our plates and a lot of other companies design in threaded ports where you can install 1 or 2 cap head screws to use as a safety/recoil stop since it is a friction clamp...

    Anvil-30 Sticky in Humid Air

@Baron23, use basically any lube you would use on a rifle/pistol. You get worried about moisture use a CLP, if your worried about dust use a dry spray. Its a very thin layer. I typically dont lube at all. The only two times is after a thorough cleaning of my gear or... if its super dirty...

    Anvil-30 Sticky in Humid Air

@Baron23, you basically take it apart the exact same way except with the instructions on the second video within regards to removing the handle. Once you remove the handle that main drive screw now is removed from the bottom and there is no rubber plug or that screw that holds the lever in...

    Anvil-30 Sticky in Humid Air

Two most common reasons: 1. Worst case : The ball could be messed up and we will repair or replace it, just send it in (after cleaning it to eliminate that cause and reduce time) Two videos below. First one is for the newest version (ARC), 2nd video is none...

    RRS tripod recommendation

If you dont want the height of the 24L but are okay with the weight, get the 34. More rigid, same weight but shorter. It is also shorter to pack.

    RRS Anvil tension adjustment

@DeathBeforeDismount No we do not have a trade in program at the moment The Anvil you have was listed for $350. Most likely if you put it on the hide for 300-325, it'll probably sell even if its been a few years.

    RRS Anvil tension adjustment

Most definitely not! For 30 years we have made products to one standard. When I started pushing these products in 2015 to shooters civilian and military, I had hopes and ideas for everyone in the industry to have the dovetail. So I made our standard completely open and pushed it everywhere I...

    RRS Anvil tension adjustment

Is absolutely correct. Up until 2021 we made all our clamps to our spec of rail and offered our rail to others to use in machining if they wanted. With the upgrade to the Anvil it is now adjustable. For your issue you can do a few things you can do: -obviously the rail and ballhead...

    Anvil 30 lube ?

A CLP style, grease, dry Teflon, graphite. It’s all aluminum and steel. Pick what works best for your environment. Clean it just like your other gear that gets dirty and froze and you don’t really need much if any. I mainly use a gun oil I have on hand, small drop work the ball cleaning off...

RRS Anvil question: rifle+Arca vs rifle+picatinny clamping reliability & strength

As far as leverage goes if you are mounting a pic rail, or a dovetail on its using the same hardware. Threaded tnuts w/w/o epoxy and screwed in to wedge the teeth in. I’m wager to say the more surface area of the dovetail would add in strength but that’s a guess. But for sake of arguing call...

RRS Anvil question: rifle+Arca vs rifle+picatinny clamping reliability & strength

@carbonbased with our new R-Lock system of the rail and clamp package there is no difference regarding the lug system for recoil. There won’t be any shift using recoil anymore. As far as pros and cons, using picatinny requires you to purposefully index the system when mounting. The 1.5”...

I would push you towards the following models that are good for your height: TVC-22i - popular with predator hunting, and competition. Most rigid tripod we have at the moment, not the most pack size friendly TFCT-24L - Chosen by hunters wanting most rigid as possible, tallest, but keeping weight...

    Two Vets 55m vs Anvil-30

The new clamp on the Anvil-30 ARC are able to be adjusted. Unlock the clamp, squeeze the jaw and tighten the nut on the opposite side. CW tightens it. If you purchased a Gen 1 Anvil they are not able to be adjusted outside of the RRS Dovetail spec. This youtube video at 1:30 shows a visual...
