Rifle Scopes need a new optic for m1a

Re: need a new optic for m1a Just throwing this out there, but be careful about your objective size. It's hard enough to get a decent cheek weld on a scoped M-14. No reason to have to put even higher rings on there.

    Rifle Scopes Leica LRF

Re: Leica LRF We have LRF 900s at work. they are ok, but get a bit sketchy farther out on smaller targets. If you're ranging something larger, building, truck, something of that nature you should be fine. Isn't so great for steel or target boards past 600 or so.

Ok, so now what? *UPDATE...FAIL *

I keep hearing we are getting rid of M-14 EMRs and going to MK11s. So I figured I'd get ahead of the curve. Since I am a poor enlisted type, I thought a Armalite or DPMS would serve the purpose. So long story short, I found a few online and threw a half hearted bid on this one as I had my eye on...

Gunsmithing add length to a fixed stock

Re: add length to a fixed stock Good suggestions here. You don't say how much you want to throw at it but I've tinkered with the idea of an adjustable buttplate from time to time. Midway and Brownells both carry items that would accomplish this. I also wonder if you can retrofit an M-24...

    CCW Advice?

Re: CCW Advice? Some good stuff here, heed the belt advice. I, like the rest of the people on the planet that have carried a gun have gone with 1911s, Sigs, HKs, take your pick. I also have the box of holsters. If I were starting the whole process again tomorrow, I would go with this. Be...

Hunting & Fishing Hog Hunting near Tampa FL

Re: Hog Hunting near Tampa FL Try Avon Park Air Force Range, open for hogs all year. I think it's about 1.5 hours from Tampa. ETA: Turkey also open in that time frame.

    Suppressors 10mm fans chime in

Re: 10mm fans chime in I'm a 10mm fan, great caliber for many things. I have a stock Colt Delta Elite I picked up a few years ago really cheap, it was damn near new. All in did was add aftermarket grips, a new recoil spring and flat bottom firing pin stop (EGW I think). I did stock quite a...

Movie Theater Modern Sniper Advanced Tactics

Re: Modern Sniper Advanced Tactics The show on my unit was almost embarassing...at least I got 2 seconds of fame. We were all dissappointed how it turned out.

    338 Federal ??

Re: 338 Federal ?? I have a Tikka T3 with the synthetic stock I picked up for $325 OTD, brand new. The shop couldn't sell it due to the caliber, but I reload so it was a simple matter for me. I stuck a little 2-7x on it and necked up some 308 brass with a 200gr Speer pill. The rifle is quite...

Movie Theater SNIPER SHOW ON MILITARY CHANNEL

Re: SNIPER SHOW ON MILITARY CHANNEL They did in fact do a show on HITRON and may have included some stuff from other units. I was deployed when they filmed it so I really don't know what they even have footage of. From what some of my guys said, they focused mostly on the airborne stuff, not...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell 3200 Elite Tactical 10x

Re: Bushnell 3200 Elite Tactical 10x Count me as another fan. I found one locally which seemed to be the same price as what I'd seen online so I picked it up. As was said before, not what you want for shooting under 100yds. Other than that, it is a nice, user friendly little scope. Is it a...

    Rifle Scopes S&B short dot

Re: S&B short dot The large lines are standard MIL. The smaller are just for "fine" reference when using holds. The scopes we have are 1/2 MOA adjustments. The only thing I can really say I don't like about the optic is that the red dot seems to "wander" a bit. My dot is about 2MOA up and...

Getting rid of the wretched "SPRONG"

Re: Getting rid of the wretched "SPRONG" I agree, it's just part of the platform, I really don't notice it anymore myself. That being said, I have used Moly-B and it seems to help. Just get one of those huge Qtips and smear it around inside the buffer tube.

    168 FGMM Group Sizes?

Re: 168 FGMM Group Sizes? I'll echo some others here with the results. Shooting it from my PSS it usually went right around 1/2 to 3/4 MOA. One thing I do recall is that from the same PSS the 175 did a bit better than 168, often sub 1/2. As you said though, issue ammo is issue ammo... re-dope...

Hunting & Fishing Help with Fly Rod

Re: Help with Fly Rod As was mentioned here, EBAY is a good source for pricing on these things. They do have quite a following. I have an old Bamboo rod that I tried to cast, when compared to my St.Croix and modern rods, they are a bit of a handful. Kinda like casting a 2x4. I learned that...
