    Gunsmithing First Muzle brake.

While I agree single point threading is better if you indicate the bore then turn down outside concentric with the bore a die can be used to cut threads quite well if held properly. He also gave a large amount of wiggle room on bore size as he is .030 over bullet diameter which is alot. I run my...

Gunsmithing Minimum thread requirement for muzzle brake

That is correct, you cannot cut the metal so thin it will not give you the strength needed. This usually happens when people buy a brake made to a certain diameter and then it is turned down to what they want and you lose all of the metal in areas that make it strong. A brake should be designed...

Gunsmithing How tight should the firing pin stop be on a 1911 ?

Extractors are not a drop in part usually, yes you need to open it up a bit more so it can be removed with your finger after depressing the firing pin. Take a little at a time and check often.

Gunsmithing Minimum thread requirement for muzzle brake

What is the thread per inch? I would think you should be able to get it around 1in O.D, that would give you .125 wall thickness and only about .060 out past barrel. I make them out of 17-4 stainless hardened and it would be plenty strong.

So my buddy wants to be a gunsmith?

I don't know about the rest of this stuff, but I will say this on the highly competitive part. It may be a highly competitive business but if you can do work like this and get a turnaround that is in weeks NOT years you can make good money. The fact that local shooters can bring you there stuff...

Pistol reloading from glock. How do I do it?

If you think it may be an issue, simply get redding push through die and you will NOT have any issues no matter what. You can also make a push through die out of a lee carbide sizing die, just make a plunger and remove internals. Push the brass all the way through it and the are perfect, better...

Savage 10FP Rechamber or rebarrel? Help!

Should work fine, and yes you just need a different bolthead that you can get from PT&G in .308. You magazine will have to be changed also, but that is a relatively inexpensive deal also. I would suggest getting a go guage from PT&g also and you don't need the no go guage, I have seen guys use...
