    Necking down is pretty straight forward. Use a good lube like Hornady Unique or Imperial Sizing Wax and go slow. Check your case length and you will probably have to trim. Your first loads should be at the lower end of the range for fireforming, check your length again.

    The more I look at the pics, the more I think that is bare metal and not plating. In the last pic I see what appears to be polishing marks. Regardless, that is not a 50's era Winchester blue. Whoever did it did a hell of a job.
