Re: 338lm load range h1000 HSM
Did you trim or FL resize the brass? If you have a tight chamber like me that soft HSM brass might be growing too much after being fired. Did you measure? How long is the spent case that stuck? I had trouble with HSM and Hornady brass sticking in my gun. I ran a...

Re: Powder for 175-208 gr projectiles for 308!
Be sure to check out Hornady 178 HPBT, better BC than any of the projectiles you listed...inexpensive too. Varget does well if you want temp stability but only 2,560fps in my gun with 43.8gr & the 178s, with 49.5gr RL-17 i'm @ 2,700fps accurately...

Re: 7mm-08
I'm planning on 8.5 twist 7mm-08 for the 175 Sierra MatchKings, they have a Litz G7 BC of .327. A 26'' barrel and RL-17 should give close to 2,800fps, that keeps them Supersonic for 1,450 yards.

Hello, I've scoured the bowels of the internet and don't see a drop in 8.5 twist barrel for 7mm-08 and Savage.
I want a 26'' 8.5 twist to run the 175gr Sierra MatchKings with RL-17. Savage short actions can mag feed a COAL of 2.980 so I should be in good shape. This is obviously a budget build...
Re: New to the scene.. First rifle. Savage 12 LRP .260
You have a great package there, I've been looking at that same gun and also a huge Sightron fan, incredibly clear glass for the price. Anyway to get that scope closer to the barrel? Hows the cheek weld? I had to add a Karsten Cheek Rest...
