Don’t believe it would. The rest does not move at all during a shot. The legs are pointed and either sit directly on the bench wood top or on a rubber pad made for that purpose. The legs have point protectors on them in the pix…. Are guys having issue with shock to the units when using the gun...- hangunnr

The motor shaft is 5/8” as is the sanding belt drive sheave shaft. Other than cleaning up marks from incorrectly seated set screws they were good to go. Just needed a new belt. Agreed that it could use a little more power. It was my intention to go up to a 1/2hp motor if I couldn’t get this one...- hangunnr

Just finished up a restoration of this Craftsman belt/disk sander. Best I could tell it’s from the late 80s or early 90s. I really need to remember to take some “before” photos as this one was a non running mess when I pulled it from a garbage pile. Some new hardware, a switch, a new drive belt...- hangunnr
