6x47 forming from new brass help

FYI I wasn't going quickly with the ram stroke as Lynn Jr suggested, just a slow steady stroke.

6x47 forming from new brass help

Back the die out further, maybe half way up the neck and see it you can neck the top half of the neck down without crushing. If so then slowly lower the die till you can get it to chamber in your rifle. Sucks it's giving you trouble, I just finished my fire forming yesterday and it was as care...

6x47 forming from new brass help

Yeah no reason to bump shoulders on brand new brass. I just use Hornady One Shot lube.

6x47 forming from new brass help

Do you have the full length die set to bump the shoulder? If so it shouldn't be touching the shoulder at all. You should be stopping a bit short of the shoulder, you'll see a little ridge there just above the shoulder/neck junction. I just necked down 400 pieces and only crushed my first piece...

PRS Talk Welcome to the Camps.... Don't buy a PRS membership

Where are you located? My local range/club signed up all our matches for the Rocky Mountain club series this year. I plan on paying the $40 in hopes that it will help them address some of the issues they want to fix and hopefully help the sport get better.

PRS Talk Welcome to the Camps.... Don't buy a PRS membership

Most matches around here charge $30-60 for a one day match. Typical turnouts have been 25-45 shooters. As I understand a good portion of the money goes to the range or land owner. Then you have target repair/replacement and whatever time the MD has in course of fire/prop design etc. It's...

PRS Talk Welcome to the Camps.... Don't buy a PRS membership

I'm not opposed to that idea at all, I'll likely get behind it and pay the membership fee either way. I'm still a very new long range/match shooter so I don't have all the history but I see a lot of unhappy people who have a lot of issues with the former regime. Shannon seems to be trying to...

PRS Talk Welcome to the Camps.... Don't buy a PRS membership

I totally see and agree with your point and there's two other things humans tend to hate whether they admit it or not, that's change and options. Most people are used to the way things are and will fight the change and if you give them the option they're going to fret about it. It's new...

PRS Talk Welcome to the Camps.... Don't buy a PRS membership

I have a hard time understanding why a $40 membership is such a divisive issue. $40 outright to track your club series scores for the year is a hell of a lot easier on the MD's. It takes away their responsibility to collect money from each shooter and forward that on to the PRS from each match...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I've got 2 tikka triggers, one is from a T3, the other from a T3X. Both of them have a very detectable amount of creep that has gotten worse over time. I'm currently running the T3 trigger in my T3X action which is on my match rifle because that trigger is slightly better. I don't care one way...

Actions that accept DIY barrel changes (Savage, Rem-age, etc)? and question about Tikka barrel swap

Damn that's crazy! I've heard the Tikka barrels are tough to get off. Glad you got it done.

Actions that accept DIY barrel changes (Savage, Rem-age, etc)? and question about Tikka barrel swap

I personally love Tikka actions/triggers. I’m planning on picking up a Ross Vise and swapping back and for between my creed barrel for practice and a new 6x47 barrel for matches. I’ve never done it but Carl goes back and forth between barrels in what seems like a minute. I believe all you need...

Swarovski Gift Certificate - PRS Shooter - What to do?

I was really hoping the Swaro cert would have stayed on the table a little longer so I could’ve grabbed it this past weekend out here in Montana. I’m drooling over a pair of their 15’s. I currently run EL 8x32’s on a tripod and they’re amazing with their huge field of view out to about 600. I...

Gecko 2 vs waxed canvas Gamechanger?

What stage have you shot that you think the non slip would actually give you an advantage? Only one I can think of is one where we shot off the lower leg of a tank trap with no bipods allowed. Might have helped keep the bag from slipping down. My Comanche at the time worked fine by gripping the...
