Custom Action - tikka footprint
The Ultimatum Defacto was a Tikka footprint. That was a bit of a disaster, not the action just the company/owners at the time. I have one in 223, I enjoy the rifle, but it doesn't do anything better than any other action, or better than a Tikka for that matter.- dzeke

Please don't think you need to buy a crazy expensive gun. For 2k you can get an awesome Browning or Beretta and enjoy the heck out of it! The Rizzini BR110 Sporter is another great option, probably a hair more than 2k new, probably around that price used. I have one in 410 that is a ton of fun...- dzeke

Yep, nothing wrong with a good used O/U. In fact I bought my K-80 used from DuPONT/Kriegoff. Saved me quite a bit of money and it'll far outlast me. For that price point I think one of the Browning CX models are a very good value. I also highly recommend you get some type of target model with an adjustable comb. It's tempting to buy a field model but the features that come with a sporting model is worth the added cost. I've been very lucky...- dzeke

Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 4HD
After reading CK1.0's experience I decided to send my optic in and give Leupold a chance to fix the turret. I got it back today, just shy of two weeks, they did fix the elevation turret, lines up perfectly now. They did not fix the windage turret. Overall I'd say I'm satisfied and I'm glad...- dzeke

Yeah, so far I'm not very impressed. Hopefully the glass makes up for it but I gotta say, that's very disappointing for a $1500 optic. It's replacing an Arken, and the Arken is better in every way when it comes to the turret feel and marking. Which should be a ridiculous statement but it's true...- dzeke
