    B&C Tactical Medalist A2?

I honestly wish I had gottenthe type 3 with thumb hook, it is no where near as bulky as the a2. Bipod fits better as we'll.

    Opinion on rifle

Barrel swap, if you reload stay with 30-06 if not make the switch. The barrel is where the lion share of accuracy comes from. Simple and relatively cheap for savages.

New stick ready for when the world thaws

My 7rm is almost identical, nice rig. http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c334/dawatson414/TheGirls.jpg

    Looking for a 308 rifle.

No question, I would buy a slightly used AI in the used section, spend the rest on glass.

    110 BA rebarrell

I have rebarrelled a couple of savages, should not be a big deal. Would need more info on what the intended use of the rifle is? Target, keep it long and heavy, moving around some, lighter contoured and 26" barrel. Think that one is a large shank but double check, should be simple enough if...

Did CheyTac ammo almost blow up me and my DTA HTI today?

I would get it checked out first, that is a stick of dynamite under you cheek and I would not push it.

    Xlr Evolution

Love my XLR, a true best value in the chassis market. It's not cumbersome like some chassis, very adjustable, and spots for rails to go anywhere needed. Wish I had got it first. Won't be my last.

    Perfect Rifle For PRS

.243, 24" light varmint/Palma contour, xlr carbon fibre chassis, night force 3-15 mlr, titanium 700 clone custom action, timney trigger set to 1.5 pounds. Ultimate goal would be for something light as the matches are using more physical drills and iron man type competition. No brake, as...

Experience with Superior Precision Rifles, LLC ?

Sounds more than qualified as a machinist, which is the cornerstone of precision. Set up a time and go meet him.

    Catastrophic Failure

Kind of looks like the cartridge expanded into an area left for a belt.

    Catastrophic Failure

My guess if it says .308 only is that the rifle is chambered for a .30 cal magnum and someone in the build process did not pay attention to detail. It should have been restamped with the actual cartridge be it a win mag or wsm.

Give me a brake... Ross Schuler

You have to handle the coatings, no point in him coating somethingnthatnstill needs some machining.

Should I trade my Savage in on a Remington for the action?

New barrel and stock for the savage is more likely to get you further than a 700p. The barrel is the secret to the rig side of precision shooting, practice is the secret to the mental side.

surgeon remedy XL .338 Lapua First load

I would say you are there as well! Even with a temp stable powder some of that could be winter.

Long range hunting rifle 300WM or 338WM

People love to get on their high horse, what's funny is this is a long range shooting forum... So that should be the first hint as to where people stand on long range hunting. There are lots of shooters here that are more consistent at 700yds than many hunters are at 200 yards. Having the...

Long range hunting rifle 300WM or 338WM

No more than one shoots in hunting, I would not rule out the .338 Lapua. Cost is not an issue if you use a box of ammo or less a year.

    Early SPS Tactical rifles???

I think it has always been luck of the draw. Certainly gun makers have looked to take cost out of their product, but the machining and assembly has always been the wild card.

Recommend a rifle to learn on? And why a PF action?

CRF is for applications where firing the next round is far more important than accuracy, ie war (main battle rifle) or dangerous game hunting. That said they can be very accurate as well, but a pf is a more simple way to go and I think in many cases offer fewer chances for things to get out of...
