Successfully resolved: In search of advice - manufacturer not respecting their warranty

Glass has a fatigue limit like every other material. It's entirely possible that they designed the hinge to require too much opening force, the frame with too much flex and glass with stress concentration at the corners. If they did, it's just a matter of open-close cycles before cracks form.

Is it a common problem? There might be a class action lawsuit or there might be a legal solution.

The departure from "just another action company" ARC's new rifle:

For custom grips, I think MK Machining's premium 3D prints would be great. I wish they could do a fit kit with an undersized grip, some Sugru and thick nitrile gloves; custom mold the grip to your hand, trim and sand it to smooth it out, then send it in for a 3D scan and print. I'm probably...

The departure from "just another action company" ARC's new rifle:

I would not call ARC products over-engineered. That suggests something overly complex and adding features that are unnecessary. Ted does jam in a bunch of features but the end result is still fairly simple in construction and robust. They are pretty damn elegant in my opinion.

I'm going to baby mine. If anything beside a cheek or a case hits my cheek piece, I screwed up. Also I can probably make the wood thicker without causing issues.

American Rifle Company New Archimedes Action, New Xylo Chassis, and major Mausingfield revision

Quit saying that. We need Ted to stick with his gun hobby.

The departure from "just another action company" ARC's new rifle:

I believe the Mausingfield, Nucleus and Archimedes all have the same dimensions for shouldered Pre-fit barrels. I read that somewhere. Some people have complained about the Xylo aesthetic but I think it is fine and I think adding a scope and magazine makes it look better. I still think it...

    Shot Show 2020 Thread!!!

While I realize that shouldn't be a problem with reasonable safe handling practices, I would hope there would be some type of "automatic" secondary safety. The trick is to make it unobtrusive and not mess up the trigger pull. Hopefully there is some Gizmo doing that inside where we can't see it.

I may have missed it but has the transmission mechanism been identified? Is it airborne?

    Shot Show 2020 Thread!!!

I'm curious what the safety setup is like? I think I saw a video stating it was a series 70 trigger. Does it have a grip safety? If it is a 1911 style trigger and no grip safety, is it just a disconnector and a thumb safety? Is the ambi thumb safety the typical Swensen style? The ergos are...

Rifle Scopes New BDX Scopes and Updates from Sig

Sig's release date on the Kilo 3000 BDX rangefinder binoculars was very optimistic. I hope they do better with the upgrades. By the way, where is the BT antenna? I have some clearance issues under the turret bell in a one piece mount I want to use.

    Shot Show 2020 Thread!!!

Honestly, I think an integral recoil lug is an expensive feature that really doesn't have much functional difference from a well done Savage or Remington 700 style recoil lug. My complaint is that Mack Bro's made the cheap recoil lug in to something expensive. ARC made a cheap recoil lug that...

    Shot Show 2020 Thread!!!

That Mack Bro's action looks nice at that price. I'm not sure about the recoil lug. I think licensing the ARC Nucleus keyed recoil lug design would have made the machining much less expensive and I'm not sure I like the idea of that receiver being incompatible with every Remington and Savage...

The departure from "just another action company" ARC's new rifle:

The Archimedes has some high end features that the Nucleus does not. The integrated recoil lug is expensive to add because you have to start with a much bigger piece of steel and machine more of it away. Beside that, the way the Archimedes does primary extraction seems perfect if you are...
