    Sorry, I should have quoted your post with the pictures in it. But yes, it looks like that thread profile is not correct. If you put a thread pitch gage against those threads I think it would be pretty easy to see.

    Could just be the picture, but that doesn't appear to be a 60° included angle thread. My bet would be that the compound was not set to 30° when the threads were cut.

    Nice rifle! Purely out of curiosity, how does the stamping on the barrel line up on the barrel that was not fitted from the factory? I swapped a 7 mag and 300 mag barrel and the one is completely upside down. It headspaces fine, I am just looking for another data point..
