Ugh ... went to zero the scope at 100 yards and the elevation hex pretty much does not budge/make any adjustments to the reticle (set screw is actually missing so that's not the issue). Looks like this scope will be going back to US Optics for repair.
Mounted my MST-100 on my M40A1 clone today and tried to zero using a laser boresighter at 100 yards before I take it to the range. Laser dot was pegged in the middle of the upper right quadrant and I was out of adjustment on both elevation and windage. Thoughts? What am I missing?
Keep an eye in the FS section and post in the WTB section on what you are after ... that is how I found my GAP built 40A1. Requires some patience but am sure something will come up.
Could also be a rotator cuff injury. Don't even think about surgery until you've seen a Sports Medicine Doc and have gone the Physical Therapy route ... they work wonders. Am a rock climber and I've had many shoulder injuries. Physical therapist has always been able to patch me up and get me...
I would think the value in this scope is that it is NOS. If/when you mount it, it's value may go down a bit. Other thing to consider is that it is a 45 year old scope at this point and the cosmoline seal (yes, internal grease is cosmoline) inside my have dried up a bit so a rebuild might not...
MB ... that is a 1st gen and it does have the 1" tube markings on it. How do the lenses look, are they clear? Really great find! I would give Connor at Celtic a call and maybe he can give you a sense of what a virgin scope like this would be worth, maybe help you with your decision.
