    FWIW - My primary training round out to 600yds is the 69gr TMK out of a 223Rem bolt gun. I live in NW Wyoming. Wind is a given. Good Journey!

    The best option is purely subjective. I think you're probably in the right ballpark with the 175 SMK. I shoot 168gr Berger Hybrids beyond 500yds frequently. It was available when I started buying components.

    My best 5 shot group at 50yds with Center X is .296 My best 5 shot group at 50yds with Flatnose Match is .270 I've shot in the low .300 with SK RM The rifle is a Savage Mark II FV Obviously my rifle likes the Flatnose Match better. FWIW - Neither of Flatnose ammo's grouped for me at 100

    I have a Mark II FV. The lowest the trigger goes is 2#. There are no aftermarket trigger upgrades to speak of. There is an Apachee trigger kit available on e Bay. I just bought it but haven't installed it yet. My Mark II FV is plenty accurate. It shoots just over .5 moa with Center X and SK...

    This is 10rd, 100yd group from my MKII FV with Center X. It could probably do better if I weren't the weak link in the chain I've never shot a 17hmr. I can't help you with that.
