I need some schooling on buying a stock.

Mcmillan will make and inlet the stock for your spec. Plan on 8 month wait time. If you want it faster, an option is to buy a marble basic inlet A4 stock that Brunos has in stock and send it to PCR to have Kieth or some other gun smith of your choice inlet it for your action and mag choice and...

    Whats a realistic expectation?

Ohh it varies and no one can say. Safe bet is 1 moa. Anything done to the receiver previously? No doubt folks will show up saying they have this and that and folks tend to stretch the truth. You can have 2 or 3 shot strings that are .5" or even .25" and people do that and then ignore the rest...

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

What you mean me? Whoa whoa whoa. I am not saying change it I am trying to understand why or why not change it. Just jumpin ginto what I see as a lively debate or discusion. Just trying to see both sides and looking for the argument on both sides. I read some interisting perspectives and decided...

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

Why not? Is the reason that is a bad idea? Not saying your wrong but NO is not a reason. If you expanded classes as an option, and made some entry level class, what would the criteria be for different classes? Even the entry level one would be 1000 yds? With any rifle and no demonstrated...

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

Ha ha WELL PLAYED sir! Actually I will post a pic of my steel practice target tonight. I call it an F-Calss Silhouette had it made special for me. 1.5"ish Xring is mighty small I know, that is serious skill that equipment alone can't address.

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

Seems logical that you start at lesser ranges and need to qualify to move up to farther ranges. Nodody arrives with no experience and dives from the high board thier first time diving in competition. 300 yd is dang hard but it is at least possible to do OK without specialty hardware and bullets...

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

Heeey, I resemble that remark. :) But I only shoot 300 yds. We'll see how I do. Even making my own bipod. Too bad mionopods are not allowed, you should see mine. :) In all seruiousnes. this thread has a TON of great infpo in it. I learn real info more from this forum section in 1 week...

    F T/R Competition Dividing F T/R into 2 divisions? Opinions?

We all know unmodified rifles makes zero sense but if F T/R matches are for target rifles firing unmodified 223 and 308 "cartridges", no doubt this is what they meant, then is turning and sizing the brass them not modifying them?

At the Range: Guns & Gear of Green Beret Snipers

I got it watched it, kind of. It was unwatchable according to how my brain works. Stopped after 10 minutes and subsequently threw it out. There may be something good in there but I could not wait through all the filler and time killing chatter about nothing to get to the one or two good bits.

F T/R Competition New Barrel Chamber?

Doesn't the gun smith cut the chamber so the ogive is .01 or so off the lands if you have a round? I can't work out what the .085 fb translates to in terms of jump to the lands. What is the chamber length from cartridge bottom to the lands? My fn for example was 2.867.

F T/R Competition New Barrel Chamber?

Yep pretty much what I figured, research select and go from there. Pretty sure the gun Smith uses the pacific tool reamers for match 308. I know he has two with different freebore. I'll bring him a dummy round seated CBTO of 2.225. The powder I want to play with apparently likes a tad shallower...

F T/R Competition New Barrel Chamber?

Looking for some guidance or best practice for a competition chamber set up. Seems a bit of chicken and egg going on but I am sure I am missing something. I am getting my new barrel on Wed. I plan on getting new rifle set up and working out a load for 300yd F-class. The gun smith wanted me to...

F T/R Competition Trying to identify an F class style bipod

Thought the Mystic too but the post says "three sided aluminum channel". Mystic is square tube. I bet it is the mystic though.

Please explain .22 hoarding to me????

They should do it for the children.

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

What would the good bullets be then?

Please explain .22 hoarding to me????

Not it's not, good god, that segment of the population is like .0001 and I was joking, poking fun at the post which itself was in jest. The reason is it is cheap to shoot and damn near everyone who has a gun has one.

    F T/R Competition Neck bushing?

Ok makes sense, I'll re-expand them, measure the bushing and use one that is 337 which should put me at .002 under.

Please explain .22 hoarding to me????

I got 8000 rnds of the cci mini mag, it will stop zombies just fine and is WAY easier to carry than 7000 308 catriges. Actually I shoot 45 but is it dang expensive so shooting 22 for practice in 22/45 pistol means I can shoot cheap. For a while there it was costing me $200 a week in ammo for...

    F T/R Competition Neck bushing?

I ask here sine those who shoot competition may have a different take than the general non competition shooter. I turned the necks on my lapua brass after expanding then chamfered it. The neck diameter after expanding and turning was .337. I figured I'd use a .335 bushing to neck it down before...

Ideal caliber for 200-300 yard paper punching?

Look at Palma guns for f class tr. 223 and 308 are all that is allowed. Really accurate. That is shooting of bipod and bag too not clamped into a a bench. Gazillion options parts rounds and info on loading. Information a plenty, those guns are built for pure accuracy. Sounds like what you want...
