700 build thread with lots of pics

Re: 700 build thread with lots of pics I'd say she shoots. These are while working up a load, not my best but still not too shabby, I'd say, for 4 different loads. Next is to load up some more and go a little further than 100 yds. Top Left: Number of Shots= 3 Mean Radius= 0.226 in Max...

Re: 700 build thread with lots of pics Just over a year, and this thing is finally done. gonna try and get some loads worked up tomorrow, and then convince someone who has a membership at the local range to let me in to test them. I'm really happy with how it turned out. If it shoots as...

Best bang for the buck red dot?

Re: Best bang for the buck red dot? http://primaryarms.com/product.sc?productId=924 I suggest getting the American Defense mount with it. I've got one on my 9mm AR, and it's been doing well. I also know several people who have had very good luck with theirs. Bang for the buck, I think...

How do you guys disassemble your Ruger 10/22s???

Re: How do you guys disassemble your Ruger 10/22s??? I would suggest not using a graphite lubricant. Graphite helps promote corrosion of aluminum. Not terribly important in the short term, but over several years of use, it will be a problem.

Some questions about the history of my new 40x

I just received a remington 40x rimfire barreled action from the CMP. I plan on building it as a training rifle so I can practice dialing, holdover, etc with 22lr. I imagine it'll also be a good rifle to wreak havoc on the wildlife with. There are a few things about it that have me...

700 build thread with lots of pics

Re: 700 build thread with lots of pics Time for a quick update. My gunsmith tried to chop his foot off, which put this project on hold for a little bit. (long story) A couple days ago, he was putting the crown on the barrel and got out the bore scope to take a closer look when he found some...

    Federal Gold match .308 length

Re: Federal Gold match .308 length Thanks for measuring those for me, guys. I'm thinking I'm going to go around 2.250" That should give me enough room to shoot even the longer gold match, and still allow me to make my reloads right where I want them. I'll be able to go as far as .05" into...
