    Army M24 Build Thread

The bottom part is a 2 piece laminate, glued together. You can clearly see the glue between the 2 pieces. As for density and type, hard to say unless you actually touch it... Quote from Jarhead: Not too hard, not too soft. Perfect. ;) Close up of the buckles. Seems to be made of pot/white...

    M24-Rebuild anyone recieve one ?

That is my understanding as well. When the rebuild program started, I heard (dont quote me for that), that some cases were missing some foam and so beat up that they would ship in the Pelican cases. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Hardigg was bought by Pelican. The new Pelican 472-M24 case doesnt...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Sounds like you dont know about the M24 rebuild program. A lot of military issued M24 were sold to the general public with CAT1 and CAT2 accreditation. 2000 of them actually (probably less in reality). Rifles were refurbished, and sold as is. Most still have war paint, marks, damages and...

    M40a1 build guide

Toki, M40 were converted to M40A1. So any M40 serial (168179 -> 322769) is correct for a build. A batch of C series (100 IIRC) were added in 1991. So a C series from that period is also correct. Unfortunately, I dont think there is a serial or date range for those receivers. That's up to you...

Steyr SSG 69... Provenance? Information? Advice?

From what I know (and remember).. That SSG69 was produced in March 1980 (380). Early Steyr used a letter code for date, but was later changed to numbers for easier identification. I dont believe this is a military issued rifle because it has the double trigger set. That was available on...

    Army M24 Build Thread

That's the real deal. The 'two confirmed kill' mention doesnt had any value IMO... All M24 rebuilds have seen some action and MAY have some kills... How can we know. There is no 'kill' authenticity certificate ;) 2nd variant with the OK Weber iron sights bases. The thin buttpad is correct for a...

    M40 Build Guide

Bottom metal is aluminum, BDL. Any Rem 700 short action BDL floorplate will do. Dont bother buy from Brownells, buy it used here, eBay, gun forums. Its all over the place. The trigger has been discussed in thorough details. Take some time to read the whole thread. Its 23 pages long, but...

    Army M24 Build Thread

The buckles are riveted to the bottom of the case. I had a case that had the foam removed. I sold it a while back. No pictures of the inside... Tried to remove the foam from the last case I have, it wont move... Its probably glued in place.

    Army M24 Build Thread

Thats a build up rifle from a 700P LTR. The fluted 20" barrel is a dead giveaway. Maybe I'm wrong, but I bet you call Remington with the serial, they will tell you its a LTR. The MARS rail is a rare piece though...

    M40 Build Guide

You can approximate the lettering size from those pictures. Compared it to the serial number. The markings on the SSA Commemorative looks different from the original. Markings are either punch or roll-stamp. Either way, done my machines. I strongly suggest laser engraving. They can create a...

Wow.... it was 300$ brand new..... EDIT: Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but the Galati is an exact copy of the discontinued HSRC from Eagle... At 225$, I wouldnt mind a slight difference from the HSRC. Deluxe Shooters Mat - Olive Drab - Galati Gear | Galati International

    Army M24 Build Thread

Flambeau 50042 looks like the exact same case to me (except the length as mentioned by eodsix). I bet they are the supplier. If thats true, well, a lot of people paid A LOT for a 14$ plastic case......

There is grey cases. I wonder when they switched to black... Maybe at the same time the MK4 was issued? They have been issued both ways.... Dont know why, but it doesnt really matter! ;)

Where the heck did all the No32 enfield scopes go?

MKIII on eBay now.. You may have a hard time bringing it back to the US, but its worth the trouble. We see them often here. 1945 No 32 MK III British Lee Enfield No 4 Sniper Scope Original Mount | eBay

I am pretty sure I already know the answer to this question.....

No, as per Supply Contract NOm-73565. Also, the flip-up lens covers mentionned in the contract are round. And yes, some Widefields were Accu-Range.

    A pretty cool M40 accessory.

Thats Lake City M118 ammo. And yes, its still good. I have over 50 boxes of various lots, by far the most accurate factory ammo I shoot through my .308/7.62 guns.
