    Re: scope rail and rings questions. I just looked a the Burris. I have to agree they don't look very robust. For the price I think I would go with the EGW. If I didn't already have a set here to use for my new rifle thats what I would go with.

    Re: scope rail and rings questions. I've heard good things about EGW, Burris, and Leupold. I have never had or heard of a problem with Badger. I will look around for some cheaper quality options for you.

    Re: scope rail and rings questions. Congrats. Just remember although a 308 isn't a shoulder pounder it does take it's toll on the person and weapon, good mounts and rings do make a difference.

    Aquired a new to me rifle yesterday

    I aquired a pre-accu trigger savage yesterday with a 20" fluted barrel. Off the top of your head does anyone know when this was made? I don't remember ever seeing this factory option. It has a factory stamped barrel.
