Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

I may be boring...yes...of exposing your BS time and time again... Your last one on SNR simply proved you are out or arguments and a complete ignorant, just spitting out tons of amateurish hogwash. I have to admit that exposing your rubbish made my day. Next time think twice before posting. It's...

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

Please not again ! Really? ok...here you go...since you are, at best, simply an ignorant of the topic at hand, just ask Weibel. Don't take my word for granted...what could I know about this?...after all, my experience is limited to a short 4 years span measuring and processing Mach/Cd data...

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

Yeah, sure! have you ever heard of something called COMMON SENSE? I know... may be shocking news to you :ROFLMAO: So what you are saying is akin to: the entire defense/munitions industry is basically led by a bunch of stupid professionals who may invest in a pro Doppler radar unit priced in the...

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

Too long to answer...because you suffer the syndrome of "I'm always right, most especially when I'm wrong":):) You know what's funny? You asserted my post forgetting I was replying to another post, then as usual, you "macho stamina" pops- up 1) Did I ever mentioned your software? NO. 2) Did I...

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

Not really "strong claims" just real world data and how this works. LabRadar is, if everything goes well, capable up to 200 yards (give or take, to take downrange readings, given angle, projectile size, etc.) Thus and among other things it's not realistic to derive a BC based on such short...

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

My suggestion is to read the paper "Accurate Measurements of Free Flight Drag Coefficients with Amateur Doppler Radar" by Michael Courtney, there is a good deal of technical aspects discussed. The math is non existent unfortunately. https://arxiv.org/ftp/arxiv/papers/1608/1608.06500.pdf

Labrabaco: a G7 BC calculator from Labradar tracks

Comparing Hornady's Doppler (a real pro radar) to whatever LabRadar says is ...well...close to absurd. So, those so called "differences" means nothing unless the distances are known, conditions, etc. (Wind is critical) You can apply whatever curve fitting algo you want, but in the best case...

    Question about BC calcs

Can't help with the math, but Patagonia´s ColdBore has a BC section where the BCs are "normalized"

    a geek’s delight: reverse engineer a distance-velocity table to Cd/Mach curve

And what about the signal strength? If the C1 can pick up readings no farther than 100 or even 200 yards then it's basically useless for real BC work. Same goes for the LabRadar. Picking up a small projectile is very hard even to most professional Doppler radars, just check Hornady or AB tests...

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

Interesting. I guess there are some cumulative differences, worth taking a deeper look into this. Thanks for posting

Can you run the same BC / MV data without WIND? (zero speed)

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

A simple and fair comparison between AB and JBM (essentially the same for GEO and many others). If some can see any significant difference, don't hold back and tell us  Cal 0.308 BC-G1 0.5 MV 3000 fps Temp 59°F Stat 29.92 Hum 0% ZR 100 yards SH 2.0 inches Wvel 10 mph...

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

"the hours and time spent perfecting their AB modeling" your words...not mine. Now, let's make this simple. Post the exact input and let's talk about any significant differences, if any. I've said this several times before...AB, GB and JBM all run the SAME calculation method, meaning the outputs...

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

If I understood right, you haven' been comparing apples to apples, because you compared a highly tuned AB solution vs. the UNtuned outputs of the other packages. Clearly not fair. If you really want to be objective, try a side-by-side comparison with same inputs from scratch, NO tuning. On the...

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

JBM, GEO and AB are essentially the same ballistics engine, the differences are moot, being all based on the same Point Mass method, which is very simple. Your right, AB add a premium which is hard to justify when compared to the other software.

Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

No, it does not. The military scope by Vortex runs on a government-provided software.
