    Concentricity gauge

I have the following concentricity gauges: Sinclair, Neco, 21th Century and Accuracy One. Without a doubt the Accuracy One is the best unit hands down. Unfortunately it is also the most (very) expensive one . But for extreme ease of use( concerning operation and adjustment ), quality...

    Gunsmithing Switch barrel anti seize

Like the man said just about any anti-seize will work. I use Bostik, Never Seez, Pure Nickel Special. It contains no copper. I use it because it is especially formulated to work with Stainless Steel which is what most of my barrels and actions are.

anyone use redding single stage press?

I have a Forster Co-Ax and love it. The speed and convenience of using it is excellent. Plus, as mentioned some of the features are excellent . But I only use it for loading rifle cartridges.

primer tool what do you recommend

I have several priming tools. IMO the best for absolute feel is the single load Sinclair. But, slow with single load and having to twist the head to lock the cartridge in place. The K&M single load is also very good (feel) and a bit faster and less expensive. The RCBS with the square tray and...

    WHICH DIGITAL POWDER SCALE?

Re: WHICH DIGITAL POWDER SCALE? Check out a Gem Pro 250. Relatively inexpensive, about $135.00, good long term warranty, fairly stable and drift free, and reads out to .02 gr. Don't know about battery life, don't use them, only the converter.

Gunsmithing Help an idiot drill a hole and tap it!

Re: Help an idiot drill a hole and tap it! My first impression is to recommend that you don't do this job. If you don't know what tap drill size to use and what tap to use you are a bit behind the curve. No offense. I realize that you want to do a DIY job but maybe you should try something...

Member Link Up New to Michigan

Re: New to Michigan Also, the Detroit Sportsmen's Congress club. It's located on Dequindre Road between M59 and 23 Mile Road in Shelby Twp. I didn't mention it at first because it doesn't have a long range rifle range but it does go out to 200 yards. The rifle range has 20 shooting benches...

Member Link Up New to Michigan

Re: New to Michigan Washtenaw Sportsman's Club. But it's a bit of a ways from you. It's located near Ypsilanti. I live in Clinton Twp. and it's a solid hour's drive for me. It's off I 94 and Michigan ave. Nice range, they shoot 200, 300, and 600 yards. They shoot several matches per year and...

For those of you who use this setup and are having problems with this function I may have a solution. I was having a problem with the back button function on this website and a couple of others. I would the hit the back button repeatedly and wait for quite a while for it to function. On a...

    boresighter for chronograph use only

Re: boresighter for chronograph use only Close but slightly different. I make my " targets" so that they fit and stay in place without having to hold them. I also mark them with either crosshairs or a small circle at the correct center. I like to use 2 targets so I can align the front first...

    boresighter for chronograph use only

Re: boresighter for chronograph use only I first set up my rifle on the front rest or bi-pod and rear bag sighted in line with the target. Then I position my chonro appox. 10 to 15 feet from the muzzle. I insert a red laser in the barrel. I use a card board targets with either cross hairs or...

    Preferred dies foe AR-15 5.56?

Re: Preferred dies foe AR-15 5.56? I use a Forster FL sizing die. Works very well and holds the neck run out very low. For seating, a Forster with a micrometer top or a Redding with a micrometer top. The Forster seems to work as well as the Redding and is less expensive. The seating dies...

Prescription glasses frames for prone shooting?

Re: Prescription glasses frames for prone shooting? Good question. I'm in the same boat. Some of the guys I shoot with use Decot Hy-Wyd glasses. They say because of the design the glasses stay in place ( high up) on the brow due to the adjustable nose bridge and don't fog up because of the...

Whats the best way to clean my Brake?

Re: Whats the best way to clean my Brake? I've actually used just plain old vinegar to clean a stainless steel compensator ( off a .22 rimfire ). May have taken a day or two to soften the carbon and lead deposits but it worked. It (vinegar) will remove bluing I then applied a welding...
