    Forster Co-Ax Press

Re: Forster Co-Ax Press Great press. You'll love it. Faster than a turret press. I use the smaller locking rings also. One thing I did was to replace the automatic jaws with the standard plate that holds a regular shellholder. It's a very minor inconvenience to change but I found that the...

Rifle Scopes Do you have a NightForce 12 - 42 x 56 on your AR?

Re: Do you have a NightForce 12 - 42 x 56 on your AR? I had the same exact setup on my Rock River with a 24' varmint barrel upper. I used this setup for our club's annual Easter Egg shoot. Six eggs at 200 yards, any rifle ,any sights, prone, any front rest , no rear rest. I used Black...

tough seating bullets with arbor press

Re: tough seating bullets with arbor press Had the same situation with Lapua brass when I loaded for 243. Seating the bullet in the Lapua brass straight out the the box with no prep I found the bullet seating pressure much too high when using a Sinclair arbor press and a Wilson bullet seater...

    Gunsmithing Savage Torque specs

Re: Savage Torque specs Using my Savage nut wrench ( Which I believe is a Midway Wheeler brand ) that has a square half inch opening for the drive, approximately one and a half inch from the centerline of the nut socket opening I apply about 40 to 45 ft. lb. And I might add I always use...

    Rock River 20" varmint

Re: Rock River 20" varmint I have a Rock River with a 24" SS Varmint barrel upper. I believe it's a 1 in 8 twist. It absolutely loves Black Hills remanufactued ( blue box) 77gr. Sierra Match Kings. On a good day with a high magnification scope it will shoot 5 shots into 1" at 200 yards. Try...

    Rifle Scopes Best Benchrest Scopes

Re: Best Benchrest Scopes You could start with a straight power Weaver 36X40 or a Sightron 36X42. Both are good, decent, relatively inexpensive scopes at around $400. I have both and they perform well. The Weaver (older model) tracks very well. I also have the Nightforce scopes which of course...

    Foster Co-Ax Lube

Re: Foster Co-Ax Lube Just about any halfway decent light weight oil. Heck, you could use Three in One oil if you like. I prefer to use light weight oil for the hinge pin joints.

    Best Powder Scale

Re: Best Powder Scale I have a Chargemaster and have used it in the past. I found it a bit slow and having some minor inconviences at times. I must admit I did not change the parameters to speed it up but I did use the McDonald's straw trick. I now throw my charges using a Harrell's powder...

    Hand or portable bullet seater

Re: Hand or portable bullet seater It might be too late now but I was going to add that you may want to consider using (buying) the Wilson bullet seater with the micrometer top in stainless steel. Yes, it is a whole lot more expensive but I think it's worth it (for me). Because S.S. is much...

    Hand or portable bullet seater

Re: Hand or portable bullet seater I use a Sinclair Arbor press. It's a good quality tool. For dies, you can't go wrong with Wilson hand dies.

Rifle Scopes I have a way to prevent ring marks on scopes

Re: I have a way to prevent ring marks on scopes The readout on the digital caliper is one and a half thousands (.0015) not one and a half ten thousands (.00015) or fifteen thousands (.015). So in effect you are reducing the inside dia. of the rings by .003 ( three thousands ). Not a good idea.

    Neck Sizing Dies for .308

Re: Neck Sizing Dies for .308 If you're going to neck size only I recommend a Lee Neck Collet die. There's been a ton of info concerning this die. Do a search here and else where for the details. Good die, no lube required, very good at producing low neck round out. Can be a little trickly to...

    Midsouth Shooter Supply

Re: Midsouth Shooter Supply Good place to check out first for price comparisons. Just purchased some dies and accessories from them and Midsouth was noticeably less expensive than that other "Mid". The selection is not as large as some of the other outlets but it's worth checking out. Service...

    Outside Neck Chamfering

Re: Outside Neck Chamfering I have to apologize to the members for being a dummy. Putting my RCBS mutli station tool aside, I placed a Wilson outside chamfering tool( with center shaft) into a Sinclair holder and chucked the whole thing into a small drill press running at low speed and it...

    Outside Neck Chamfering

Re: Outside Neck Chamfering I have the major brand name (Redding, RCBS) tools. I'd like to chamfer under power not hand tools. Too much trouble (slow)to do by hand.

    Outside Neck Chamfering

I've recently taken up shooting Service Rifle. And of course all the reloading that comes with it. My problem is that I can not get a good outside neck chamfer without a burr. I believe my tools are good and sharp. Short of buying a Giraund or a Gracey does anyone have any suggestions?
