    2013 Competition Dynamics 24hr Sniper Challenge

    So I ordered the vortex last night with a larue mount. I also got a gg&g bipod. Now if I could find some ammo.... One of the other challenges they have is to hit a target at 100 yds with a pistol. I had a buddy hit a pig at 50 yds with a 1911, but I'm not sure anyone could really be accurate...

    Hey so a buddy at work is going to let me use his Rem 700 chambered in 308. It doesn't have a scope on it but I was looking at Vortex Vipers. Has anyone had experience with these scopes? What magnification do y'all recommend?

    What about rucks? I've always used an external frame pack in the boyscouts, but I've seen a lot of internal frames from the tactical sites. Is there a preference? I was also going to use my Solomon boots since they are pretty light

    Yeah I've gone to the links on their site, that's what got me interested in this competition. I've been a hiker all my life. I'm an Eagle Scout and I like to camp. I just started getting into long range shooting, so I figured this was a good way to enjoy both hobbies.

    Yeah I'd like to train more but I work full time. Thanks for the info on the 7.62. I do have an old Remington 700 that's a 30-06. Is this a better option?

    Fieldcraft 2012 TV BugOut Drill - Training, Gear, Etc

    Re: 2012 TV BugOut Drill - Training, Gear, Etc Right now my rifle has only BUIS. Will having a 1X optic be beneficial to this challenge? Im tempted to just focus on dialing in the BUIS, for the weight and cost advantage.
