    AI AE acting up

Re: AI AE acting up Definitely get some more range time on it first. Mine shot 168's OK... but when I started loading with 178 AMAX's it was a totally different animal. I never shot anything else in it afterwards. You should probably try some different bullets before doing anything drastic...

What bullets are your favorite for target .308 WIN

Re: What bullets are your favorite for target .308 WIN 178 AMAX 175 Berger VLD 175 SMK or Nosler Custom Competition 155 Lapua Scenar Tried some Hornady factory loads with 168 BTHP's that shot pretty well too, other than those I haven't messed with too many 168 loads.

Nosler Custom Comp 6.5mm 140gr bullets?

Re: Nosler Custom Comp 6.5mm 140gr bullets? Just measured some 140 AMAX for comparison to desertshooter's Nosler CC's & got this... OAL = 1.384" base to ogive w/ Sinclair hex comparator = .714" this was averaged for 10 bullets, had a couple that were +/- .002".

    What would you do?

Re: What would you do? Another option...keep the Savage for your 308 & buy one of the good aftermarket 260 (or other 6.5mm) barrels for it & swap out as you see fit.

Horrible receiver failure on Savage - NEED HELP!!!

Re: Horrible receiver failure on Savage - NEED HELP!!! +1 to this...don't have an action wrench, just did like Michael N said.

Horrible receiver failure on Savage - NEED HELP!!!

Re: Horrible receiver failure on Savage - NEED HELP!!! Were you attempting to take the factory barrel off when this happened? I've had to use heat to get one off before, appeared that the factory used some form of Loctite on the barrel threads. Never had a receiver twist like that... yet...

Rifle Scopes bsa or vortex crossfire scope

Re: bsa or vortex crossfire scope This is on sale @ Midway for $299... http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/default.aspx?productNumber=598484 seems to be a solid little scope with matching reticle & adjustments. Either this or a Super sniper, but then you'll be stuck with a fixed...

Rifle Scopes High end optics on a newcommer geared build?

Re: High end optics on a newcommer geared build? Agree with steve123, the Weaver is a lot of scope for the $$$ & I'm more than pleased with mine so far...even though it may put the package in a bit higher price range than you were looking to do.

    Gunsmithing crazy barrel story

Re: crazy barrel story That does suck... however, if it will stabilize them, I'm looking forward to seeing some testing on light bullets at "ludicrous speed" LOL! Powder Valley happens to have some 100 grain HP's in stock from Hornady & Sierra plus some 110 grain Speer TNT's in 7MM... be sure...

    Ground Hog Load...

Re: Ground Hog Load... No problem 25MAN, glad to help. Knowing your twist now, I'd think that a 40 or 50 grain VMAX pushed pretty fast would be quite devastating (as long as you can find a load that's accurate of course). Which factory bullets have you been shooting so far?

Why am I having so many misfires?

Re: Why am I having so many misfires? I'm gonna agree with the guys saying that it's the shoulder being pushed back too far & the firing pin is pushing the round forward but not lighting off. I had a similar event while groundhog hunting with my 223AI... ran out of fireformed loads while in a...

    Ground Hog Load...

Re: Ground Hog Load... What twist barrel you shooting? I've had good luck (and pretty nice explosive effect) with 60 grain VMAX's out of my 223AI with H335 powder. Here's a link to the 223/5.56 load page, just have to filter through it & find various VMAX, Blitzking, etc loads that are...

Rifle Scopes New Weaver tactical 3-15x50

Re: New Weaver tactical 3-15x50 Scott, looking forward to seeing how the Weaver fares against the F1. Thanks for taking the time to do this little comparison & giving us your insight on this scope! Perhaps sometime we could see a "mid-priced" FFP shootout between this Weaver, the Vortex PST...

Drag race fans who have been to Bandimere

Re: Drag race fans who have been to Bandimere I've never been to Bandimere, but I like seats anywhere close to the 330' mark for the fuelers. Gives a good vantage point of the tree plus the fuel cars are really starting to put the power to the ground by that point. Also a good spot to help...

Re: Accesory pieces for forearm rail on B&C A5 stock Oops, posted another solution, but then realized you had the Anschutz type rail & not the normal sling stud setup... the one ORD posted is the one!
