Hunting & Fishing meat aging idea

Re: meat aging idea Grand pappy told me, and seems logical but I don't have scientific evidence I can provide, but meat ages/cures, it is fat that rots and taints. YMMV

    Rifle Scopes Leupold TMR

Re: Leupold TMR Mixed thoughts on TMR vs Mildot. I shoot a NF NXS in MLR/MIL reticle and adjustments. On the one hand, for punching paper the finer reticle with half mil hashes is nice, on the other, the simplicity of the MILDOT is nice for things like reactive steel. All depends on what...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold TMR

Re: Leupold TMR 1/2 mil, things get squirelly when you try spotting or correcting in .05 mils. Most reticles and adjustments are in .1 mils for mil/mil scopes, mil reticles with moa adjustments, that is a different story to be commented on by someone more adept than I in the area of mil/moa.

Re: about to send the rifle to GAP If your rifle has the privilege of being worked over by GA Precision you won't be disapponted. +1 for the bedding suggestions presented above.

    Model 70 into tac driver

Re: Model 70 into tac driver Here she is, my M70. The action has been trued, rebarreled into a heavy contour barrel, bedded in a McMillan A3 stock, badger bolt knob, and a NF 5.5-22x50 scope. My load for this rifle is 56.5 gr of IMR 4350 in surplus military Lake City Brass with a FGM 210...

    Model 70 into tac driver

Re: Model 70 into tac driver I am partial to the m70 30-06. My target rifle is a push feed m70 action all tuned up in a Mcmillan A3 with a heavy barrel. It pushes about 2800 fps and is a sub moa shooter with my hand loads. I shoot steel out past 700 yards with it no problem.

Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 Which is the best reticle

Re: Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 Which is the best reticle Moa or Mil? Will you be ranging with it? Vortex hd is ffp whereas nxs in the 5.5-22x range is sfp. I own a 5.5-22x nsx in mlr with mil adjustments and I really like it as an sfp scope.

Winchester Mdl 70 CRF vs. CRPF vs PF

Re: Winchester Mdl 70 CRF vs. CRPF vs PF I've got two model 70 Pf actions one in a Target rifle one in a hunting rifle. Never had a feeding issue with either, but that is for standard target and big game hunting. I can't vouch for Pf when hanging upside down shooting zombies. All joking...

Rifle Scopes Wait Time on USO 1.8-10x

Re: Wait Time on USO 1.8-10x There is one available in the optics for sale section now. http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3398175#Post3398175 I was considering it for a hunting rifle but opted for a bit more magnification. It's a good deal and no wait time.

Rifle Scopes Nightforce F1 - Entire eyepiece rotates?

Re: Nightforce F1 - Entire eyepiece rotates? On my 5.5-22 NXS I just take a piece of P-cord (color matched to my OD green stock, of course!) and take it around the bikini cover and tube about 4 or 5 times. Not too fancy, but keeps the cover handy, which is nice to keep the desert dust off...

Rifle Scopes Help me decide: IOR, Leupold ER/T or Bushnell HDMR

Re: Help me decide: IOR, Leupold ER/T or Bushnell HDMR Sounds like you have your budget hammered out at about $1,200. Now the fun part, decide which features are a must have (i.e. high speed turrets, illum, zero stop) and the features that would be nice to have. As mentioned by others...

    Help With My Build

Re: Help With My Build Stock wise, I would also consider a Manners, someone correct me if I am wrong, but the Manners T4 would be a good contender that is ergonomically similar to a McMillan A5. Really, both are great stocks, it just comes down to which one fits you best.

Rifle Scopes aftermarket scope rings vs stock NF rings

Re: aftermarket scope rings vs stock NF rings I have been really pleased with the Vortex match rings machined by Seekins. I have a NF 5.5-22 mounted on them and have no complaints whatsoever.

input needed tikka t3 lite or ruger american??

Re: input needed tikka t3 lite or ruger american?? IMHO, you will enjoy the fit and finish of the Tikka much more than Ruger. The Tikka offers a smooth cycling bolt, light weight, and very good accuracy.
