Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem so in the meantime i just took the bottom plate off my 4rd mag and put it back in the bottom metal. it doesn't need the plate on the bottom to center the entire mag, just the bottom from having play. there's enough room (but not too much) where if you...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem the only thing about the shim method is you would need to make a new mag release to reach through the sleeve, or make a new one integrated in the sleeve.

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem you mean press the front of the mag out and plate it on the inside with a curved brace? i thought about that, as far as tapering the mag torwards the front to just get a little extra oal room in there. the stock 4rd mag isnt a straight single stack, its...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem I dont know, maybe it was the way I was raised, but I believe if you need something done then you can't always rely on someone else to provide the solution. In every other sport/industry that I'm involved in, everytime someone needs a fix , they go tial...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem well as fara s i know, all remingtons are plug n play while only half of savages are. cdi isn't plug n play with the new bolt release. again, the acme does work with the new design but is only available from sss when in stock and they can get it out...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem well here's my reasoning for trying to go about it this way myself: I own ONE savage rifle. For that one rifle, it has not only the magazine design in question, but also the trigger gaurd bolt release. This poses numerous financial hurdles. I want 1-2...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem yeah definately the fal spring but the follower would just have a bit more play in the top section? or i would think we could just use the fal follower also as opposed to shortening the savage one (or would the fal follower not feed properly into the...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem damn that's a great job! This is what i like to see. but what is the col of the stock 4rd? if theyre different, then wouldnt it pose a problem for the spring? p.s. i'm ordering one of these mags as we speak so i can get some parts in hand to play with

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem I've thought about this approach and it would work (unfortunately I have no welder). as far as the base plate, I personally wouldn't make it part of the mag, instead I would make a plate to fit in the space of the bottom metal. That way its one less...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem I apologize, I havent had time as I've been out of town. I completely missed the gun show this weekend which was probably my biggest ticket in a step torward solving this.

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem i grabbed my rifle last night and forgot my caliper to get dimensions. its too bad i'm headed to ny for the weekend, it wouldve been easiest to go to the nations gun show this weekend with my bottom metal and shop for the best fit donor. is anyone able...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem i know the stock 4rd is centered by the bottom plate on the mag, but a 10rd aics-style mag (if fit properly up inside the bottom metal) shouldn't need that lip to center itself anymore.

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem the catch should be the easiest part of all, it can either be cut and pressed out, welded, or bonded on to the front of the mag. as far as the latch not sticking through the insert far enough, a simple slit through the insert could be cut... but this...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

Re: Let's solve this savage dbm problem as i have brainstormed, one of my thoughts was this... and please hear me out as this is just a thought. being that the stock 4 rd is a staggered stack single feed, it's obviously quite a bit wider than say an aics or any other single stack single feed...

Let's solve this savage dbm problem

I'm 95% sure I've had enough over this savage dbm dilema. SSS never has mag extentions, the CDI only works with the trigger gaurd bolt release with a custom fix, no one has proven to make an aics mag work in the stock dbm... so that leaves me with the acme from SSS and to be honest, I'm not too...
