Has Leupold upped their game, or sponsored more shooters?

How much time do you have behind a Mk5? If your only frame of reference is 20 year old Mk4s- then yeah I get the hate. I don’t care for any other scope line they make, but the Mk5 is a very good scope.

    Rifle Scopes NX8 4-32 F1 Questions

I too like the illuminated TMR in the 3.6-18 Mk5. On 3.6 it essentially acts like a duplex. The NX8 on 4 power was much harder to use, the NF reticle lines are very thin.

    Rifle Scopes NX8 4-32 F1 Questions

As others have mentioned- the parallax bugs me. On the Mk5, I can put the parallax on say 600 and shoot everything from 300-1000 without touching it during a stage, with every target still in focus. The NX8 is a lot more finicky. The glass on the NX8 is not as good to me as Mk5, and I love the...

    Rifle Scopes NX8 4-32 F1 Questions

Having used both, and still having a Mk5 5-25: in no way would I trade a Mk5 for an NX8.

    Stone Glacier Gear

Can you show me how or where all these KUIU frames are breaking? I’ve got one that’s seen 60-80# a couple days a week for 4 years. No problems with it.

    New Leupold Patrol 6HD 1-6

“Both scopes/reticles sport Leupold’s fascinating in-scope electronic leveling system. Tilt the scope more than one degree left or right and the reticle illumination blinks. Bring it back to level, and the illumination remains solid. Tilt it more than 30 degrees and the illumination shuts off to...

    New Leupold Patrol 6HD 1-6

In this article it says the reticle blinks when more than 1 degree off level, and shuts off completely with more than 30 degrees. This is for a “tactical“ scope? Are they insane? You think someone in a tactical situation, or even just a 3gun match, might need to tilt the rifle to make a shot...

Rifle Scopes Swampfox optics, any good?

I’m glad you like yours. My example was the exact opposite of all those things. Glass was crap, turrets were off so the lines were a half click off, clicks were mush. I sent mine back for a refund before wasting any more ammo on it.

    Stone Glacier Gear

Stone Glacier makes solid gear. I recently used their Grumman down jacket and pants in AK. Very warm and light weight. I have friends that have some of their other clothes and they hold up very well. I’m nervous about the buyout by Vista. Right now anything you buy will be their typical quality...

Who had Escaped Lab Monkeys on their Bingo card?

For potentially harmful wildlife- I would round them up. From a distance. With 5.56.

Who had Escaped Lab Monkeys on their Bingo card?

Yes we do, and I have helped get livestock back in a fence. (Not in Pennsylvania). Cow vs car collisions are not pretty for either side.

The BIG 3 Bino/Rangefinders (or 4?) Swaro EL RF, Leica 3200’s , Sig 10K or Ziess?

I'm sure the x32 will be a great bino, but it can't transmit as much light as a x42 objective. Where I hunt I often have to glass and range an animal with only a minute or two before last legal shooting time (30 minutes after sunset). So low light performance is a priority for me.

    MDT GRND-Pod

Jeez, that’s 2 ounces HEAVIER than my Atlas V8 with RRS clamp.

    Rifle Scopes Leupold MK5HD 1-6

I agree. All they did was put a new name on the VX-6 that has been out for years. Pathetic. I’d love to run a good Leupold LPVO- but they don’t make any. (At least not outside of a MIL contract). They once set the bar with the Mk8 1.1-8 and Mk6 1-6. Then what? Seems like they just gave up.

    Rifle Scopes Leupold MK5HD 1-6

Well at least Leupold stays consistent- always several years behind the current market. Whatever they finally bring out will be a disappointment anyway. I love the Mk5 line, and run several- but the rest of their offerings are sad.
