    Springfield M1A

There is something about the way they recoil and then naturally roll back into position for the next shot that I only experience with the M14/M1A and the M1 Garand. I love my SR-25's but there is something about these I keep coming back to.

    U.S. Army/Navy/USMC M14-based sniper and DMR/SDM rifles circa late-1960s to late 201Xs

P.S. The positive thing about selling it was that it went to a guy just back from the middle east. He had used one there and was very happy that I sold it to him!

    U.S. Army/Navy/USMC M14-based sniper and DMR/SDM rifles circa late-1960s to late 201Xs

I built an EBR on a Sage stock back in 2009. I actually set it up for a friend and he finished it off with the accessories. Later he needed money so I bought it from him. Unfortunately I sold it later because I thought it was too heavy and most of my other M14 clones were more accurate for me. I...

Those aren't today of course, but at least within the last decade.

The M14's have stayed around for a remarkably long time. Here are a couple of my favorite pics.

Most of the box variations said Collectors Edition on the bottom row. The only box label I have seen without that is the version labeled (Rifle Only) instead of "S.W.S.".

    M24 scope...allegedly! SH experts help!

@M4guru it has the 1 CLICK = .1 MIL turret.

    M24 scope...allegedly! SH experts help!

Here is a picture of the scope I mentioned above that had the serial number drilled out. When I spoke to Leupold's technical support they recognized it immediately. They said it was done by the military when they dispose of scopes. Demilled may be the wrong term, but I mean demiltarized to...

Remington M24 Special Run rifles only @ EuroOptic

I agree the Ultra and MK4 scopes are great other than the mil/moa. I just meant having a higher magnification than 10X would be nice at times.

    M24 scope...allegedly! SH experts help!

Everything else looks correct. The down side is that without the serial number Leupold won't honor the warranty. I have an M8 CQBSS that had the serial number drilled out as a way of demilling and they said they would not work on it under warranty.

The only limitations I have experienced with the M24 are ammo consistency and the 10X scope. The hardware has never been the limitation in my shooting.

What brand is your most trusted AR15?

Regardless of the brand it seems like a lot of people want to start making changes before they have shot them enough to know the rifle well. I usually tell them to go shoot a case of ammo through it before they do anything. Any needed changes will begin to talk to you.

What brand is your most trusted AR15?

I have an old Bushmaster with A2 upper that has been totally reliable. I keep it as a truck gun, with just the A2 sights....no optics or any other extras other than a nylon silent sling. Just the rifle and 6 loaded 30 round mags in bandoliers.

    OLD bolt action rifle HELP!!

I agree, not worth much at all. Even as a sporterized rifle, it is not a very functional configuration. I guess it would depend what it is that you are trading...

    M40a1 build guide

Ouch, I think I would have bought it and sold the first one! Seriously though, if anyone has a specific number that they want I would try an email to CMP customer service. I believe that they will sometimes sell a specific rifle serial number to someone who asks.
