    History of the SR25

Interesting reports. It's surprising to me since I've handled and shot several of the early SR-25 Match Rifles from the 1993-1994 time period (see my posts earlier in this thread) and have never had any issues. Barrels and accuracy were always excellent, and their reliability was perfect. Of...

    Army M24 Build Thread

On a positive note, I sent a question to OTB via Gunbroker and included a link to the posts here. I got an immediate response back from OTB indicating they had emailed Gunbroker asking to pull the auction, and discussing how they could correct the auction language. Hopefully Gunbroker will...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Still they are selling them with a title of "Remington 700 LA M24 U.S. Factory Barreled Action 24" RR series marked". The only hint that they know they are fake is the word "style" in the description: "1 - Remington 700 LA U.S. M24 Military Style Receiver". They need to just come clean and call...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Like I said above, they are wrong in a lot of ways and not even close! It's really bad that they are creating fakes. They are a solid commercial action, just sell them for what they are.

    Army M24 Build Thread

Exactly, it is wrong in a lot of ways. Further to your points, there are no screw holes for the back-up iron sights. It's not even close! In my opinion, it appears they ruined a perfectly good commercial receiver. I should add that there were some legit short action M24 receivers that were...

I would send it again. I have usually received an initial response within about a day, then the final response within from 1 to 3 weeks. Also, check the email address. The one I have used is: [email protected]

I agree. But I have seen some of the M2010 optics cases (made for the MK4 6.5-20x50) that have had the foam modified. That makes me think that the optics cases were used at some point and modified in service.

Thanks, that is what I suspected. I've only seen a couple pictures with the optics case shown inside the hard case with Armageddon case. With the rifle strapped into the Armageddon molle loops and inside the hard case, the optics should be protected well enough to remain on the rifle.

I like that one too!! Question: Did the optics case fit well in that case set-up? It looks like that was the iM3300 case with the Armageddon Gear bag. I have the same setup with the Pelican 1750 and the optics case will not fit with everything else in place.

Nice XM2010! These rifles are serious hardware. Mine is accurate, smooth handling, and comfortable to shoot too.

I do the same as Trigger Monkey, alternating the tightening between the front and rear bolts gradually tightening. When I can tell I'm close, I break the front bolt first, then the rear. Not sure that is necessary, but consistency can't hurt. I do not add any extra clicks. I don't apply any...

I haven't seen stamped marks, but have seen a lot of marks in that location that appeared to be left over from the fabrication of the cases. I had a few extra cases at one point a few years ago. All the extras are now in the hands of fellow collectors!

Email on the way about that USMC Unertl 10X we discussed previously! Thanks, Dave

    M1 Garand

What is it that you are wanting to have done? I have used Shuff's parkerizing and can recommend them. I had them refinish the metal on a late WWII Garand and was very happy with the outcome. https://shuffsparkerizing.com/services/parkerizing/

    Xm2010 Bolt Questions

Those may well have been what my short action action bolt was for. I bet a lot of projects ended abruptly at Remington.

    Xm2010 Bolt Questions

You're right. The more time that goes by, the less that this will be remembered. I've never seen a US marked RR (or G) prefix receiver, but I don't doubt you a bit. One puzzling bolt I found has a two tone rem-tuff/sandstrom finish with a M magnaflux mark, but is a SHORT ACTION bolt. What...

    Xm2010 Bolt Questions

I hadn't thought much about the G prefix being the first 2010 receivers, but that makes sense. Logistically the US C prefix M24's had to be returned and rebuilt. That had to be a phased/staged process to keep enough rifles in service. Looking through some FOIA responses, the earliest confirmed...

    Xm2010 Bolt Questions

Thanks for the information and observations for the Remington bankruptcy inventory. I obviously haven't seen the G prefix example with the M24 type finish you described. From that info, it sounds like there must have been was a spec change at some point. I've observed a number of examples: -...
