Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

I would agree a complete burn should be more consistent. I wouldn't so quick to say more barrel length would not add velocity if a complete burn has already happened. Too many variables for that to be true I would think. But I am sure most are aware after a certain point the bullet will slow...

Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

My biggest gripe with what he claimed there, is it is ONE instance for one rifle in one caliber. He has the be the BIGGEST and loudest mouth shooting at people yelling over and over that 5 shot groups are small sample sizes and mean nothing (which actually irritates the hell out of me). Yet...

Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

Kind of sounds like you didn't read the article that Jerkyfreak was kind enough to post. It clearly shows a LOT of what is going on. it's not ALL spooky voodoo.....

So much for the US being regulatorily constrained on new powder production.

those look really scary, thank goodness they are safe now.

Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

When you try the tuner, if your barrel has similar results to mine (they all could vary) you should see a CLEAR trend happening. I did a video on it and you can actually see the size of the groups change from setting to setting. Of course the "3 shot groups mean nothing" crowd will say it means...

Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

Yes that was the facebook post I was talking about. In his comments he claims there is NO movement and it is shouldered. I believe one can have an instance of no detectable movement.......but one video is a pretty small sample size. LOL I have actually been looking into high speed cameras to...

Can muzzle brakes reduce or increase ES/SD?

I have one barrel with a tuner, It made no difference in Velocity but does make a difference in group size. Interestingly That Litz guy made a post on facebook a week or so ago saying that there is no barrel movement before the bullet leaves the barrel and that means no such thing as harmonics...

The Optic That Saved Trump's Life

no I feel walmart and palmetto are a good comparison because their buying power devalues products to a point where people will not pay retail thus putting mom and pops out of business. Yes palmetto also pumps out crap like daggers that people think are good quality and don't even realize how...

Talk about a huge in your face F/U to tax payers

It mazes me how many ignorant people always call the dems dumb when they see or hear what they ae trying to pull this week or next. The people that lead them are NOT dumb and have lots of plans. Their followers might be dumb and eat up the ideas as smart, but the leaders are very are all...

    Fake reloading supplies company? reloaderscenter.com

Regionrat, dealers don't "block search engines". ammo seek is NOT a search engine. Retailers have to pay monthly fees to be listed with ammo seek. I have a tiny online store the eventually I might try to do more with but it all costs money. The return on the fees is not worth it. What the...

What Percentile of Shooters Can Shoot 1 MOA?

Honestly I have never really seen guns that shoot poorly except once I shota factory savage axis in 6.5cm....that one was bad. It shot about 1 1/2 moa. Unless It's a cheap cheap gun, I really don't get how they could be shot poorly unless using the wrong weight ammo (like 77 gr 223 in a 12 twist...

Ok, so really - ES/SD with Hornady brass?

I didn't know hornady brass was that bad and bought about 500-600 pieces of brand new brass a few years back. I just now got around to loading it a few months ago and first firing it was decent with regard to SD/ES. Second firing....big difference in a BAD way. Just ordered some Alpha to try to...

Preference for basic die sets - RCBS, Forster, Hornady or other?

I agree I hate the lee rings. I use hornady on a bunch. I LOVE the RCBS Matchmaster dies, much better than redding but since I only use them on my 650 the window gets really small so I can't use it on some bullets like 140 gr 6.5 bullets. But the matchmasters are def worth the money. Plus it's...

Preference for basic die sets - RCBS, Forster, Hornady or other?

actually so simple a caveman can do it. If you are trying to do it all in one shot and charge with the dillon powder charge that is going to hinder things. Set your dies up, station 1 decap, 2 size and prime, station 3 mandrel then just keep cranking away and let them spill into the tray...

Preference for basic die sets - RCBS, Forster, Hornady or other?

I wouldn't call that a great thread. That isn't a new idea at all, I have been doing all my precision loads on my 650 for the last 5 years. But it's a waste to use two separate tool heads when one is fine for each caliber. Just do it in two steps. Saves a lot of prep time.

    Are Berger bullets really better?

that is pretty much my take. I will say I just did some seating tests with the bergers in 140 gr and they were not so promising so far (but I haven't had time to test much yet). Also I am learning the hard way how much better Lapua brass is over Hornady. I have a ton and planned on using it...

I guess that means no one at all should ever bother using it since it's trash
