PRS Talk Can we stop shooting offhand in PRS?

I agree, and to @Patruck825 point, an ethical hunter is not taking a shot on an animal offhand, especially at distance. I understand that it is a legacy skill, and I am cool with that. However, not when it is for the entire stage, if it was incorporated to a stage with transitions and a...

PRS Talk Can we stop shooting offhand in PRS?

I have shot a bunch of matches with an Offhand stage, not my favorite to say the least. What do you guys think?

PRS Talk Preferred trainer rifle caliber?

Many others have mentioned it, but I am in the same boat, I built a 223 to save the barrel on my BR. My BR only comes out to confirm zero, check speeds and shoot in a match. Otherwise, the 223 is in the truck. They are super easy to load for and are a blast to shoot. A few buddies run Magtech...

Suppressors Full size 30 cal on a .22LR

I am sure it is a bit of everything. Most 22 ammo has that wax layer on the outside that likes to melt and solidify in the can. So it's gluing just about everything! ...and you are right I should not have done it in the house. But it was a good excuse to tear down the home desk and deep clean!

Suppressors Full size 30 cal on a .22LR

I would steer clear of running a 22lr through a centerfire can (unless it breaks down, which I think is rare). Here is a picture after almost 500 rounds of SK match through a Thunderbeast 22-Takedown. Since you are going to wait, I'd pony up for both cans...

    75 ELDM in Tikka Varmint

The MDT mags are longer however I have had issues with the follower hanging up. The Accurate Mag has ran flawlessly and I was able to open it up to over 2.550 to allow more room. It is pretty easy to take apart the mag and file down the opening. I posted a picture in another thread, link...

    75 ELDM in Tikka Varmint

I opened the Accurate Mag up a little - around 2.550". So I was able to run the bullets to .0025" off the lands. OAL - 2.475

    223 in a BH Origin??

@DRichardson I havent had any issues with the Accurate Mags since opening it up. The sleeve comes apart easily, then I hit it with a file. Opened it up to around 2.550" of mag. Heres a picture...mag is super dirty, still running strong.

What aftermarket Rem700 trigger has proven most durable?

I have had good luck with my two TT Diamonds. The trigger body is almost fully enclosed, my hope is it stays cleaner than others. I've had two Timneys go down.

    300 WSM load data

    @clark33 damn that is impressive!

    300 WSM load data

Awesome, those are the speeds I am hoping to achieve. I know the VLD's are jump sensitive, based on loads I've worked up in other cartridges. That's why I was leaning towards the Hybrids. A few friends pile up whitetail with 6.5 and 308 hybrids. I'd imagine the 185's @3000 fps pack enough of a...

    300 WSM load data

I am with you guys...Not a ton of data out there. I've got a 300 wsm in the works. Plan on running Nosler brass, which is stupid expensive but seems to be the best option. I am considering the 185 VLD's and the 185 Hybrids. Running this in a short action so I might have issues with jumping the...

I have .97” Vortex PMR’s with a 20moa base and heavy Palma barrel. Still enough room for scope caps or cover.

    75 ELDM in Tikka Varmint

I hate this answer, but its the truth...Depends on what you plan on doing with the rifle. If you are running it as a trainer, then I'd run the load you've got, sounds like a hammer. If you want to shoot a few tact class matches, or push it further downrange, work up another load. I am jumping...

    6BR-Reloader 17 vs H4895

Yeah, I was getting pretty heavy bolt lifts and flat primers with Varget.

    300wsm load

Getting a 300wsm barrel spun up. Plan on running 185 Berger Hybrids through it. Has anyone had a successful hunt using 185 Hybrids? They do damage? This rifle will double as a longrange toy and a hunting rifle. Thanks!

    6BR-Reloader 17 vs H4895

A few buddies and I all run H4895 in our BR's. Very temp stable. I have tested Varget as well, shot great, required much more powder to achieve the H4895 speeds. Load: 29.6gn of H4895 CCI 450 primers 105 Berger Hybrids .0025 jump 2850fps SD 4 Varget was around 31gn's to get the same...
