I used 5min epoxy and added 1/2-3/4” of epoxy to the ‘pockets’ in the stock to basically act like a big buffer, and strengthen the stock where the T-nuts are.     You did your best and that’s commendable. People die like that all the time, when they’re not alone. It’s never pretty. I’ve done a lot of CPR and it almost never works.

    I do not use sunshades. I use lens caps, so you either keep the sunshade, with lens caps, or you'd have to take the lens caps off every time you put the sunshade on. I’ve never seen a bug enough difference, to where I’d leave it on all the time

    What about something like a woox or the MDT timbr? Wood-oriented but with the performance of aluminum built in. Or, one of the lighter weight foundation stocks. Looks kinda like wood, acts like aluminum.
