All it takes is money. In pretty much any line of work big contracts are not all they're cracked up to be and usually just result in a project you can't wait to get out of. I can only imagine a government contract...
Maybe their money is better spent on binoculars.
But seriously it sounds like they're naming an axsr and just posting that as a formality. Although they did say single stage trigger. Maybe Cadex Kraken as well?
I've found pretty much all published max load data is conservative when it comes to loading for bolt action precision rifles. Berger is really a joke. I've used 24 grains of varget with the 77 smk at 2.260 coal. That's a very common load for the high power guys shooting them out of ARs.
When I go to the final checkout at powder valley it won't let me use the free shipping code. This is just for bullets too. I always have problems with either their coupon codes or their posted deals not applying.
You could set up the die with any of the competition shell holders and adjust your bump as necessary with the different sizes. The overall height of the shell holder is the same on all the redding competitions, the difference is where the case head actually sits inside the shell holder. I set...
Technically you can use whatever shell holder you want for your other dies you just have to use that same one every time. I use a regular shell holder for decapping and bullet seating. Easier to remember that rather than one of the 5 competition sizes.
Here is my latest load. I shot two 25 round strings. I know the 223 is pretty finicky on getting low SD/ES. Are these numbers about right or should I be getting better results?
Starline 223 brass
Sierra 80g smk
24.5g varget
Remington 7 1/2 primer
I put together my first custom as a general long range fun rifle. I don't shoot prs. I think that's where the origin really excels. It's very feature rich and just runs.
