Left meltdown over Post Office Reform..

Who relies on the post office for “life saving medications”? If I was getting medications that my life depended on, I think I might use a different delivery method to begin with. Not to mention, as unreliable as they are, you would need to plan ahead anyway. I doubt the restructuring would...

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

@Im2bent I’m not too much into this inclusivity thing. I’m much more into the idea you need to have skills to have your hand on the yoke regardless of any other physical characteristics that people might lead you to believe make you special. Looks like you can reduce the 1500 hours to 1000...

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

I agree, from the video it’s really hard to tell just how hard they hit and how much side load they put on the gear. It appears the crosswind component was from the right and not really that bad if you look at the snow blowing over the taxiway in the video from the plane waiting to depart. She...

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

Interesting. If the article is correct and she had less than 1500 hours, unless something has changed, she could not have had a ATP (Airline Transport Rating). After the 2009 crash at Colgan Air, the FAA changed the requirements to fly for a regional airline to 1500 hours. There must be some...

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

https://www.foxnews.com/us/delta-releases-new-information-about-captain-first-officer-flying-plane-crashed-toronto Interesting article. Looks like the FO had been there a year, which means she should have had over 600 hours in type. My question is, why did the captain stay at a regional...

Sim instructors are hit or miss, some are very good on the line because they fly a lot, some, especially management sim instructors, suuuuck, because they don’t fly much. You know what they say, “If you can’t do, you teach”. If you can’t cut the mustard in Delta training you suuuuck, and...

Members of violent transnational gang arrested

Shoot, from the title, I thought this was going to be a thread showing Democrat members of congress getting arrested along with certain party leaders and Hollywood stars……..

It seems she may have only recently been released to the line, as in completed her initial operating experience with an instructor. You typically need at least 25 hours of flying with an instructor on revenue trips to get signed off to fly the line. In addition, every airline I’ve worked for...

No downside as long as you limit your range to that which has the velocity to properly expand the bullet you are using, and it looks like you aim to do that. I’m having a 20” 300 WSM barrel made right now for the same purpose. It should be good to 500-600 yards max, which is plenty far enough.

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

Yes, and I could be wrong, but not three days after the accident. Most airlines forbid the crew involved in any incident from talking to the media until after they are certain what will be said will not further lawsuit action against them.

“Work Safe”. You can have the slogan, but it’s all in your fingertips to prove it……. @UKDslayer , you will never see the pilots interviewed until after the final NTSB report comes out, if even then. Air Disasters sometimes interviews the pilots, but I’m guessing they got paid to do it.

Have you seen the jumpseats in those things? Not exactly comfortable in any way. Slide out barely cushioned 90 degree seat and your knees straddle the console. But I hear ya, it’s tempting. I try to stay off of them in general and especially if the weather is marginal.

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

Yeah, it’s all fun and games until the weather is marginal and the wind starts blowing; then it’s all in your hands there chickies! It does blow in that part of the world, the highest wind I’ve ever landed in was in Hamilton, ON not far from there, it was 48 gusting to 58 and 15 degrees off...

You better avoid SkyWest too from what I hear from former employees. I have to ride on passenger airlines 2-4 times a month getting to and from my scheduled flights and my personal rules are: 1) Try to only fly on mainline flights. 2) If I have to fly on a regional airline, try to at least be...

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

It looks like the right gear collapsed on touch down. They should be able to tell what the vertical rate of decent was and how many g’s was put on the airframe during touchdown, including side loads. It looks like they hit rather firmly and flat pitch wise, maybe the right side touched down...

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

I’m not defending Silencer Central and I’ve never done business with them, but I do know that after approval, there’s a week wait before they can send it out. That’s what I was told by Capital Armory, where I just picked up a Nomad TI XC.

Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

Interesting. I was flying last week with a relatively new FO who had been at a regional airline previously. He talked about several incidents that almost became accidents due to a lack of piloting skills in the cockpit and was surprised there had not been any accidents in years. Now this. I...

Where to Cow Elk hunt in 2025

I put in for a code tag in Wyoming unit 7. Because of where I work, I can’t get any time off from the middle of November to the end of December, so I’ll have to back pack in the middle of October and see if I can find them up high on public land. The only problem out there is that there’s a...
