    Do you reload? If so, 6BR is a solid choice (look at 6BRA and Dasher too). If you don’t - it’s a bear to find any factory or semi-custom chambering in.

    Having shot quite a few “firearms” - you think you’re beating the system when you own one, but you’re not. Might as well drop the $200 on a stamp to build a hammer.

    Depends on the cartridge - flatter shooting is way easier. I’ve had no trouble watching 300 PRC from the muzzle to 930 yard (our max range) impacts. 308 gets a little trickier and I have trouble with 223 past 600 or so unless conditions are perfect (humid, sun behind me, not too hot for killer...

    I have a used K624i I picked up for around $1800 on my Vudoo. Great, super crisp glass, good eye box, great tracking, good turret feel. Clear enough I can spot my own shots at all reasonable 22 distances - my Athlon ETR wouldn’t do it past around 75 yards on paper on my eyes, without a shoot n c.

    You’re really pushing the ragged edge of consistency at 900yds with a 223 in any kind of wind. Even with a long barrel, 77s, good spotting glass, we had to ride up in the cart sometimes to see hits on steel clearly and misses usually disappeared. 6BR will take so much of the frustration out...

    LRI does some pretty great work - although by the time you get done adding all the custom action features (side bolt release, etc) you’re close in cost to a custom action, even with a free donor 700.

    One Rifle To Dial in Hunting / Scope Work Advice - 6.5 CM/PRC vs 7 PRC

    The big guns tend to “shoot through the wind”. I’d pick up a 7 PRC, and do 95% of your practice on the 308 at the ranges you intend to hunt at. That 7 won’t let you down on an actual animal, and it will feel like a cheat code at 600 yards after shooting 308.
