Summit Build : follow my mental illness journey

I'll have to look up a chamber iron. Still no proof yet if it will effect this rifle in the end but hopefully this weekend I'll see. The firing pin is titanium and there was no option for any other material type. It is not a typical 10/22 pin. I'll have to look at the pin harder but there...

Summit Build : follow my mental illness journey

Got my 2 firing pins in and ordered extra barrel shims and extractor kit while I was at it. Put them in and decided it's time to address some things I wanted to improve. First I ordered the lop kit from krg. This kit comeswith a rubber butt pad vs the cheap plastic one the quick adjust version...

Some of us have high cheek bones. If I used a 1.5" on my AT I very likely would run out of comb adjustment.

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

I saw... but I still use bipod stud mount 🥳 and only add a podloc. The pinnacle of performance and fashion.

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

I've considered it but it's some hefty money to pony up to find i may not like it. The biggest thing that draws me back to harris is little to no leg flex and I've yet to find a bipod that HOLDS its tension to tilt. The atlas Cals are either locked or really loose. I like medium tension so it...

    Precision Rifle Gear Bipods?

Give me Harris or give me death. Fancy? No. Works? Definitely. Only thing I'd like to test would be feet with more grip. Like adding atlas feet material instead of the hard harris.

Need advice on Barrett 99 50bmg rings

Badger Max-50 rings I'd imagine would handle it.

Summit Build : follow my mental illness journey

Never realized how hard Lapua was to find. Had to settle for a brick of Pistol OSP to test out. I was going to go today and stripped my gun down to give it a good cleaning before testing the new ammo and found the below. When I was at my parents after the match I tested the gun with a new lot...

I've got 2 atlas cals I'd like to offload if that interests you. Oddly enough I always end up back on a harris.

I'm going to be the odd ball out here i believe but I'd take a fine hand file to it and just knock down any proud protrusion. That's a non critical part of the barrel and the bolt face should be inside that outer part and not touching it. If it was mine I'd contact the seller and see if I can...

I don't think you would be saving a whole lot of weight between a 5 and m24 at 20". Not enough to notice at least. A medium or heavy palma would cut (estimating) a good 1lb off the setup but still leave a lot of meat by the chamber and throat.

I thought it was an anti rotation safety. I cannot rotate my bolt without it depressed

    And so it begins...

If you compare charts and average prs ranges you are rarely gaining in terms of wind when boosting velocity or trying for the latest and greatest bullet. Better to save some barrel life and just shoot whatever shoots best out of your rifle.

@diggler1833 100% agree on feeding. If it's quiet I can hear the rounds strip from the mag but if not it's really hard to tell if you got a round or you are empty. I can't think of another gun I've ever owned that feeds that smooth.

@Edsel trg bolt lift really is easier to lift. The bolt though i wouldn't say it's smoother, it's different though. The TRG feels like gliding velvet, smooth as butter but not slick. The AI is like sliding ice on glass. I've always liked factory remingtons though so maybe my opinion doesn't...
