    Proportionate scope rings

The swan sleeve goes over the PRI free float tube on the Mk12 Mod 0 and clones. Outside of those it's not really used.

    Proportionate scope rings

In the context of gas guns, short of a large frame AR, a scout mount, Swan sleeve, or monolithic upper, a cantilevered mount is highly recommended.

    Proportionate scope rings

Experience mostly. There are some exceptions but generally non-cantilevered mounts and individual rings put the optic too far back on a small frame AR. That’s not ideal and it’s why cantilevered mounts exist.

    Proportionate scope rings

You’re going to need a cantilever mount for an AR.

What does this do on a aics chassis?

    That's your QD sling socket.

    Scope dope

None of that made any god damn sense but if it works for you that's good I guess. Why are you dialing a 1-8? Like I know NF fucked up by leaving the turrets exposed on the 1-8 but that doesn't mean you need to use 'em all the time.

    Scope dope

My first iteration of DopeTokens (copyright) was mainly geared towards two of my gas guns but I made some for the longer range crowd too that might stretch things a bit farther. Spacing's a bit tighter, especially on the 1 1/2" token but manageable I think, hey, you get what you pay for lol...

    Proportionate scope rings

I don't qualify a mount based on weight or appearance but can it accomplish the task, does it have a good track record, and is it available in the height I'm looking for? My short list for rings/mounts is Nightforce, Badger Ordnance, Seekins Precision, Vortex, and Warne. There's some overlap...

    Magpul DT-PR Stock

I can tell you from using the Vltor E-Mod, Magpul CTR, SL, SL-S, PRS Lite, Bravo B5, and BCM SOPMOD Mod 1 on accurized AR-15's, I'm liking this one a lot. As I mentioned before, my CTR locks up tighter but the amount of movement I'm talking about is a fore and aft movement of about .020", which...

    Scope dope

Damn, that's good, I didn't think of those.

    Scope dope

I could make tens of dollars lol.

    Scope dope

I don’t know, I didn’t like any of them, hence this thread. lol

    Scope dope

I've been making a couple revisions to my SPR and SPRecce, one of which is keeping some dope on the inside of the ocular covers again as a fall back option. In the past, I'd use some masking tape but this time I thought I'd make something "fancy". I know there are commercial options available...

    Magpul DT-PR Stock

I got my DT PR in today and played around with it a little bit this evening. Weight wise, it's nice, 10.8 oz out of the box and with the 1/2" CTR riser it's 12.3 oz, this the same weight as the BCM stock w/ a home brew cheek riser that it's replacing. It's also the same overall length and...

    Gunsmithing Crown Damage

It's always something stupid like that lol. I never would've thought of the gas tube.

    Armalite Tech Notes

I found some more Tech Notes and added them to the file.

    20" 556 vs 224v

No, I'd still go with a 5.56 gun.

    20" 556 vs 224v

For informal gas gun matches I'd go with 5.56. It's cheaper, there's a wider ammo selection, and options are coming out now that start to close the capability gap.
