Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger MK3 22/45 failure to feed

Ammo could be another issue if it's the low power stuff. In my Mk3, I use the cheapest stuff I have. Normally, some kind of 550rd box from Walmart or wherever. It's usually super sonic in a rifle length barrel, but in the pistol, due to the short barrel length, it's subsonic and sounds awesome.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger MK3 22/45 failure to feed

I would also take the magazine apart and clean it. If you've been using a can, then there's a lot more carbon coming back into the action than the designers ever intended. That doesn't mean it won't or shouldn't' work though, so don't get too frustrated yet. Give everything a good cleaning and...

Advice on Gunbroker rifle purchase gone bad

I agree with that wholeheartedly. California as a piece of land is amazing in breadth and scope. It's the culture and the politics that drove me nuts.

Advice on Gunbroker rifle purchase gone bad

I know you gotta have money to eat and what not, and sometimes there circumstances that make it incredibly difficult, but it blows my mind that people with sense still live in California. I would vote with my feet after finding a replacement job somewhere else. Take it from someone that travels...

    Suppressors Which Attachment?

I have the Plan "A" on a few cans and use the GA taper mounts on most of my rifles. I think they work incredibly well. I don't want to stir the pot by saying they're "better" than anyone in particular, but I could run nearly anything, and that's what I use. They make a ton of options for...

Advice on Gunbroker rifle purchase gone bad

I'll type this slowly, maybe it will make sense. The bolt was nearly 100% shipped with the rifle. What motivation would the seller have to keep the bolt? The low paid errand boy, lunch getter, at the FFL threw the bolt in the trash. Why would the person that shipped a perfectly good KMW...

    Suppressors TBAC Ultra 7 ?

That does seem odd. I would also add that I use some Hornady one shot cleaner/dry lube/whatever else on mine before I spin the can on. Maybe that's doing more than I thought. I use some food grade 2200 degree anti-seize on the threads to keep them trouble free. I don't lick it off, even though...

    Suppressors TBAC Ultra 7 ?

What are you shooting it on? And how many rounds before you get this experience? I've not shot mine a ton, but I don't get that much carbon after a couple hundred in a bolt rifle.

Advice on Gunbroker rifle purchase gone bad

How did you read the post and come up with this as a response? I guess I am assuming that you mean "demand a refund" from the seller on GB? It's pretty clear that the most likely circumstance, by far, is that the FFL's junior goon boy that was told to sign in the rifle; threw the bolt away. Why...

Accuracy change after Barrel cut down

That's a serious haircut on those barrels! I cut down a 6x47 barrel to 17" and wished I had gone to 20". The thing is loud with a can on it now. Plus the velocity loss, I don't see much benefit other than handiness to cutting barrels very short. I guess that's why we all need some of each!

    Stainless barrel painting

I've had good luck with regular old Rustoleum. I think the trick is in the prep. Use a Scotch-brite to rough it up a little and then prime two coats lightly and then season to taste with the color. I usually go as many light coats as I think it needs to look how I want. I use brake clean or...

    What do I do now?

Did you read the thread? The company is doing everything within the realm of physics to get the rifle to shoot. They don't make the components, they just make them work together. I am confident that the company would give him a refund if that's what he wanted. It would also appear that his...

    Suppressors Which Attachment?

There's a few good reasons to use an attachment device over direct thread. I'm sure there's more than I will mention here, but off top of my head the two most obvious to me are: First, that a well designed taper mount device won't back off or come loose like a direct thread is prone to do. The...

    What do I do now?

OP- Sorry to hear about all your trouble with this build. Really low odds that with the quality components and builder you chose that it would happen this way, but in the end you will have an amazing rifle and a heck of a story. Additionally, you've gotten a bunch of one on one time with two of...

American Rifle Company Special 4th of July Offer

Can I really have this bad of luck or am I just a damn idiot doing something wrong?----Could be either one really, but lets see if we can figure it out. 😂 Are you running the bolt very slow? Or more like you would run the action at a match or while hunting? Ted didn't design the actions to...
