    7-300 prc die recommendations

    I use Short Action Customs dies. They work very well and have very little runout. They also size the case and mandrel size the neck in one operation. Pricey, but worth it.

    I'm not an expert on this, but I do know the Sheridan Case Gauge is cut to minimum SAAMI chamber specs so unless your chamber is smaller than SAAMI spec then if it fits the case gauge it should fit in your chamber. I've used other go / no go gauges, but they aren't all cut to minimum spec so...

    I'd highly recommend the Sheridan Engineering slotted case gauge. It's helped me solve a couple of case sizing issues before a kaboom.

    Since I needed one 1.250" die, but wanted to use the rest of the slots for 7/8" dies I found the Lee thread adapter works to change a 1.25" slot to a 7/8" slot.

    Hornady Unique on the outside of the case and Imperial Dry Neck Lube for the inside of the neck.

    I just sized 70 pieces of 6.5 CM brass with the A419 die. It worked very well, but the one thing I didn't like was needing to lube the interior of the case mouth so the mandrel wouldn't stick on the upstroke when it sized the case mouth. I didn't need to do that with the SAC die. On the good...

    Thanks! What is your cartridge over all length and what brass are you using? I'm tentatively planning on loading the ATIPs long and single feeding. I have ADG brass and just got ahold of some CCI 200 primers. Definitely planning on starting with lower charges and working my way up.

    For barrel length I guess it depends on how far you plan to shoot. Longer barrel = free fps = flatter trajectory = longer distance before going transonic.
