    AMP Press now in stock!!

I think I will also test it against hydro press. If certain pieces of brass are consistently outliers…..see if both presses consistently show the same pieces being outliers.

    AMP Press now in stock!!

I think I’m going to get 50pcs engraved. Load them in that order every time on the press. Then look for any patterns that show up on paper and/or chrono.

Also, real load development isn’t a one and done in a single day. It’s done for the life of the entire barrel. All this single day, shortcut shit is typically found in the prs/practical type community. Our targets are big enough you can load up most anything that’s halfway consistent and do...

It’s far better for a new reloader to be told the truth. That their 5 string is all but worthless except for weeding out the bad. Then for them to go several years until they realize their loading process isn’t as good as they thought when they learn more and dig deeper.

Except that’s not how it works in the real world. Telling people to use that data (except to rule out “bad” loads) is the equivalent to feel good participation trophies. If the data isn’t reliable, it’s not reliable. Just as ledzep said above, your 7sd 5 shot string could be 5sd or 20sd. One...

    Powder IN-STOCK thread

Production has never been higher from manufacturers. The reason for pricing is almost all due to demand. All retailers are stretched thin due to everyone buying. Retailers are thus getting less supply than normal, but still have the same operating costs. No one stopped buying components during...

    AMP Press now in stock!!

To be perfectly honest, I’m not sure if it will make anything “better.” But I’m very interested in seeing if the data it provides can either help produce better ammo or at least give us a better understanding of what different things do. For example, we may be able to differentiate if high...

My apologies. I should have made a separate post about the trolling. You weren’t the intended recipient.

    AMP Press now in stock!!

Yea, I think $995 would have been much easier for more people. At shot show they were targeting $500 which seemed pie in the sky. And then changed to $995 and eventually $1395. But, the press looks nothing like it started and I like they kept going until they felt like they had a solid product...

    Stats for velocities and groups.

Also, a 5 shot group is likely not enough to know what the rifle/shooter is capable off. That fallacy just hasn’t been debated as much.

    Stats for velocities and groups.

No one is advocating that people go out and shoot 30 round volleys and that you absolutely must know what your real SD are. What we are saying is not to lie to yourself. You get nothing out of thinking you have a 3sd and a .2 rifle. We are also saying that if anything, people should spend less...

    Brass Processing

Some chambers may take 2-3 firings to fully form. If the bolt falls freely or closes the way you want it to, then hold off bumping until it starts being tighter than desired. F/L sizing and shoulder bump is designed to be minimally sizing down a fully fireformed case. Sometimes that’s not just...

Improving handloads, annealing or neck mandrels?

Decide what you want the inside diameter to be. Let’s say .262 .2625 .263 are diameters or “neck tension” you want to try. Go to Amazon and order 3 pin gauges. One each of those diameters. Then get mandrels in all three plus/minus another .001 or so. So, .261, .2615, .262, .2625, .263, .2635...

    Brass Processing

Ya, it doesn’t matter. Have tested it countless times. Clean, not clean…..nothing changed at all. That’s also why I don’t care if I decap before cleaning. Clean/not cleaned primer pockets don’t matter. And they get cleaned up a little when tumbling the lube off.

Matchmaster Powder Dispenser | Save $100

I am considering this as well. The unit being completely contained is nice. I need to tweak settings and if I can get two of them running in match mode that are close to the speed of my v3, will likely do the same.

Using Reloads Done By Someone Else

All things considered, as long as it’s not over pressure….it’s likely “safe.” I.E. someone could load a bunch of 6br with 30.0 varget and seat bullets long. You seat them for your chamber and done. It would be fine. Advisable? Depends on the situation. Safe? Mostly.
