    no problem Keep in mind muzzle wear and crown damage are 2 different things, a worn crown can cause accuracy issues, damaged one too I would guess . Not saying that a crown is not important, because I always make a good crown on my barrels, but just my observations...... I will clean up this...

    my crown was ragged from the hacksaw and angled and it shot .7 @200 yards but yes I am sure it would have made a small difference if trued I seen testing, cant remember where, a crown was destroyed many different ways and accuracy was not effected but like everything all barrels are different...

    believe it or not the crown has minimal effect on accuracy (some yes but not as much as you would think)

    yes I could have but the purpose was to cut it down to 20 inch for my wife to use for deer season, I figured why not test this since it is getting cut down any way

    finished, I mounted a Burris XTR on it for now and loaded the same load as my other 7mm LR but I had to make the coal much shorter to fit in the magazine, as this is a hunting rifle, so far 1 inch group at 300 yards with 168 bereger vld and retumbo powder at 70.5

    308 with a Critarion barrel and savage style barrel nut, and later you can always get a barrel in 6.5x55 or what ever caliber you want and change it as needed with no gunsmith involved like mine 7mm rem mag and 6.5x55
