Re: 1/4 MOA Well guys I am going to try to shoot those 5 shot groups. Wish me luck.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Lol. My wife would not offer to help me if she needed the bullets for her own protection in a war zone but I guess it is ok because she would likely try to take me out with a bad reload. Ha. It does take me forever to load because I move so slow but yes I hear you on the anal...

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA I guess I got lucky. I think the rifle is the capable one here. I have much to learn and acquire as a shooter or shooting. It is fun learning and I am finding that reloading is just as much fun and goes hand in hand with this, or at least with me it does. I have much to learn...

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Sometimes I measure the two holes farthest apart outer edges and then subtract .308 but since I got calipers I guess I could just measure center to center of the two holes farthest from each other. I am in for a challenge now. 5 shots is going to kick my ass lol.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Yeah, I need to ditch those. I think the paper ones do look cleaner.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Here is my rifle. Kind of a crude setup on the tailgate but what the hell, it works. Here is another one I fired with same ammo a day or two ago. Again, I will bump up to five and see how I do.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA This one same ammo and was shot around the time the first target I posted was shot. Oh well, I am proud of them. I will start trying 5 shots and see how I do. I dont shoot this well every time, but it happens enough to keep me happy.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA This one was shot this afternoon. 168 gr Gold Medal Match. Yes three shots.

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA If this works this is one of the first ones I shot. I was proud of it anyways. I will submit this and see if it works. I measured it around 1/4 but who knows I could be measuring wrong but I thought it was good. I am sure there are lots of you that can do this all the time. I...

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Oh no. I am fine. I don't hurt easily. I am so new to all this that I have been judging 3 shots. It seems like I can always hit the first two just like you say and then the third one sometimes spoils it but overall my 3 shots have been looking good. It varies though. Some days...

    1/4 MOA

Re: 1/4 MOA Well now I might get disqualified because I am shooting three shot groups lol, guess I will bump it up to 5 to be in the realm, but can you guys please tell me how I can get some pictures up? Do I have to link to them? Sorry but never uploaded any here? Ok. Looked in FAQ. Looks...

Re: 1/4 MOA By the way it is the SPS tactical with 20" barrel.

    1/4 MOA

So far so good with my new rifle. It consistently shoots 1/4 to 1/2 MOA depending on my beginners skills. I am shooting Gold Medal Match 168 gr Match Kings. I am shooting a 700 SPS action in an HS Precision stock. I am very happy with it. Using a Harris bipod and Super Sniper 10 x 42 scope. I...

    168 Mtchking BTHP

Re: 168 Mtchking BTHP Well some of the first brass I am attempting to load is once fired Federal brass. I understand that Winchester brass has a higher capacity than other brass or I heard that. Who knows but I loaded my Federal brass with 42 gr of Varget with Federal GM primers and Sierra...

    168 Mtchking BTHP

Re: 168 Mtchking BTHP When I say in the neck I mean it was up past the shoulder of the casing just a bit.

    168 Mtchking BTHP

Re: 168 Mtchking BTHP Hey everyone. I have one more concern and it is a safety one. Most references I am reading are telling me to load these 168 FGMM rounds with 44 gr when using Varget Powder. I weighed this out several times and was surprised to find powder all the way up in the neck of...

    168 Mtchking BTHP

Re: 168 Mtchking BTHP Well I kind of hoped it would be a little cheaper in the long run but I guess mainly I want to become a little more self sufficient and learn a new skill. Yeah I realize as far as accuracy goes I can't ask for much better. I was actually quite surprised at how accurate...

    168 Mtchking BTHP

Re: 168 Mtchking BTHP Yeah my rifle loves 168 FGMM and I also found that it shoots Remington Match well also in 168. Just for kicks I shot some cheap Super X 180 grain power points through it the other day and it grouped those less than half an inch. So far most everything shoots decent but I...
