Rifle Scopes Something with close range PA and 24x is coming from Vortex

Looks like a capped windage turret too. I wonder if this is aimed at the Athlon Midas Tac - FFP, lighter, and cheaper than the full fledged 'tactical' line (Viper PST Gen 2 for Vortex, Ares BTR for Athlon), with no illumination and a capped windage turret. *Edit* watching the video again, that...

    Rifle Scopes Quigley Q520 ffp

That's what I figured as well, but to so cavalierly say 'nah, fuck it, not going to bother' makes me doubt that the review is being done objectively and that the scope dials consistently. No doubt other scopes they review aren't intended to be dialed all the time, but he's implying he tests them...

    Rifle Scopes Quigley Q520 ffp

From the review: ...and all credibility in that review is gone. This thread gets better and better.

    Rifle Scopes Mountain Rifle Scope

I'm 95% sure that the VX-6HD line is SFP, as are the VX-5HDs. I'd seriously look at the 3-15x VX-5HD. The zero lock and zero stop turrets and the available Impact 29 tree reticle make it a really versatile scope on paper, and its compact and light. I'd love to see a version with 0.1 mil turrets...

Rifle Scopes Any decent cheap 1" tube scopes?

Does Delta have a US distributor yet, or do you have to order them from Europe?

Rifle Scopes Market for high priced glass????

I think a lot of it is driven by progressive upgrading. A guy spends $800 on a Vortex Viper Gen 1 or Burris XTR. After a few years, he sells it and buys a Razor Gen 1 or Bushnell ERS. Then he sells that and buys a Razor Gen 2 or a Nightforce. Then he eventually buys an S&B. Each time you're...

    Rifle Scopes Shorter Parallax

How does the scope cap trick work? I've never heard of that before.

Rifle Scopes We Just Received an AMAZING Athlon Delivery

Hey Doug, have you started receiving the Ares BTR with the updated turret design yet?

Rifle Scopes Advice wanted for Optics on a AR-10 in a 6.5 CM

Didn't the VX-3i LRP replace the Mark 4 in Leupold's lineup? They seem mechanically similar and have a bunch of features the Mark 4 doesn't (better reticles, zero stop, the revolution counter on the big, goofy elevation turret) and they're sub $1k. I know one guy here had tracking issues with...

Rifle Scopes Sightron finally entering the game

The lead tech is probably going to observe and verify the test process for the initial sample batch, which is a small scale initial production run (or 'pilot' run). If Sightron doesn't have the equipment to replicate the tests in house and is accepting deliveries on Certificates of Compliance...

Rifle Scopes Am I the only one who missed this?!

Interesting. When I saw March scopes are advertised as made in Japan, I figured they used an OEM rather than their own shop. Pity I'm not younger. I'd love to get into the optics industry.

Rifle Scopes Am I the only one who missed this?!

Is Kenko the company that makes Sightrons and March as well, or are they made at another OEM?

Rifle Scopes “Do All” Riflescope (Hunting/Tactical/PRS)

Seeing this makes me wonder how the Athlon Ares 2.5-15x and 4.5-27x compare optically. They're identical in external dimensions and weight, so they're probably similar internally. If Vortex has different performance with physically different scopes presumably optimized for the performance they...

Rifle Scopes Trying to decide on the right scope for a DMR/SPR

Is there any reason you haven't listed any Athlons? If you're looking at the Viper PST Gen 2 and are budget conscious, you'd benefit from looking at the Athlon Ares BTR and even the new Midas Tac. Both have similar features to the Viper for less money and marginally less refinement/quality. I...

Rifle Scopes Anyone try the Athlon Midas Tac yet?

Do you have an Ares, or have any experience with one? I'm curious how the Ares BTR and Midas Tac compare since they're close in price and have broadly similar specs.

Rifle Scopes Leupold LRP Tracking Test Results

Be sure to post when it comes back. I'm curious if they fix it or if that qualifies as in spec. And if it's 'fixed', if it's truly fixed.

Rifle Scopes Recommend a FFP for NRL22 Rifle matches

Now there's something that isn't mentioned much. I just compared the FOV of the Viper PST Gen 2 to the Athlon Ares BTR and the new Midas Tac, along with the Sightron SIII and the PST has the widest range of any of them. Having not shot any action matches, I never paid much attention to FOV, but...

Rifle Scopes Sightron Zero Stop scopes

No, I just didn't proofread before submitting and mixed up wanting the SV reticle in the SIII with the SIII getting the zero stop and hoping the SV got it to. Good to see the rest of the 6-24xs are getting the zero stop soon enough. Hopefully the FFP mil model on the list EddieE got from...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold freedom series?

No idea - they announced it (and five other models) just before the NRA show, but I didn't see a release date and they aren't on the website yet. https://www.leupold.com/leupold-core/core-insider/news/leupold-adds-six-new-models-to-award-winning-vx-freedom-line

    Rifle Scopes Leupold freedom series?

If you're interested in a Freedom for a rimfire, I'd wait for the upcoming 3-9x EFR version with the adjustable parallax. That should be more versatile than fixed parallax model.
